Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored specifically for elderly clients, identifying their individual care needs.
• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions that address common emotional challenges faced by seniors, including grief, anxiety, and depression.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that promote well-being and mental health.
• Provide guidance and education to caregivers and family members on supporting their loved ones' emotional well-being and navigating associated challenges.
• Deliver specialized grief and loss counseling to both residents and families, helping them process end-of-life issues and cultivate coping strategies.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs aimed at enhancing mental acuity in elderly individuals, employing evidence-based interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this position involves working with elderly clients who may be grappling with various psychological issues linked to aging, such as cognitive decline, loss of loved ones, and adaptation to significant life changes. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and may require culturally sensitive approaches to care that respect their unique perspectives and experiences.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• At least four years of recent experience working in geriatric counseling and mental health support roles.
• Proven training or specialization in geriatric mental health and age-related concerns.
• Ability to effectively assess and implement evidence-based interventions aimed at promoting mental wellness in older adults.

Compensation and Benefits
