Job Summary

This job involves assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications. It debugs software to optimize performance, participates in code reviews for continuous improvement, and implements testing protocols to ensure reliability. It writes technical documentation and works with Quality Assurance to verify that applications meet specifications and user requirements.

Previous intern program participant or prior experience as Comcast intern preferred.

As a Full Stack Development Engineer 2, working in the DevX organization, you will
be responsible for designing, building, and delivering high-quality, scalable software
solutions that power modern platforms/products within Comcast. You will work
across the technology stack, contribute to technical design decisions, and take
end-to-end ownership of features, from conception to production. This role is ideal
for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, communicate clearly, and are
excited by the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence in software engineering.

You will be joining a high-performing engineering team focused on building reliable,
scalable, and developer-friendly systems that helps more 1000+ development teams
deliver their software better, cheaper and faster. The team values strong engineering

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end full stack applications usingTypeScript and Java.
  • Build scalable backend services and APIs with a strong focus onperformance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Develop clean, intuitive, and responsive frontend experiences integratedseamlessly with backend systems.
  • Design, optimize, and manage data models using PostgreSQL, MySQL, andNeo4j, selecting the right data store for the problem at hand.
  • Implement and consume APIs using GraphQL, ensuring efficient data accesspatterns and clear contracts.
  • Participate actively in technical design discussions, code reviews, andarchitectural decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues using structured thinkingand strong analytical skills.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other teams usingour product to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Explore and apply AI-driven tools or techniques to enhance productcapabilities, engineering efficiency, or problem solving.
What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in software development within aprofessional engineering environment.

  • Strong experience in full stack development with proven hands-on expertisein TypeScript and Java.
  • In-depth knowledge of databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Neo4j,with experience in schema design and query optimization.
  • Practical experience working with GraphQL for API design and integration.
  • Demonstrated interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, orAI-enabled development tools, through projects, experimentation, or appliedlearning.

  • Participating in agile development practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to enhance team collaboration and project management
  • Staying informed on emerging technologies to suggest innovative solutions for software functionality
  • Writing and editing technical documentation to support software design and application requirements
  • Reviewing literature, patents, and current practices relevant to assigned projects to support the development of robust software functionality
  • Working with Quality Assurance to ensure applications meet technical specifications and user needs
  • Debugging software to enhance performance and user experience
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
