Job description

This position is Remote in Minnesota or Wisconsin. You will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

This position is responsible for receiving and initiating calls with patients to collect payments and settle accounts. Follows-up on accounts, receives and processes payments, and updates incomplete and missing account information. Collaborates with patients to create payment arrangements and counsels' patients on financial assistance programs. 

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST and Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be during normal business hours, Monday - Friday.  

     

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the resolution of unpaid accounts
  • Receives and resolves calls from patients, insurance companies, attorneys, and departments
  • Obtains and processes payments
  • Collaborates with patients to create payment arrangements
  • Updates incomplete and missing account information
  • Documents collection activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of experience working in healthcare billing, healthcare collections OR healthcare accounts receivable 
  • Although not common, ability to travel onsite to 2925 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407 for any major computer issues that arise
  • Equipment pick up is required on day one if you reside within 2 hours of 2925 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis MN 55407. For those outside the area, equipment will be shipped
  • Reside within the state of Minnesota OR Wisconsin
  • Ability to work full time, Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST and Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm CST. 

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of EPIC OR similar EMR systems experience 

     

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within Minnesota OR Wisconsin
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
