Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Analyst is responsible for delivering highly visible inbound and outbound EDI projects for the data operations team at Allied. This includes playing a key role in the ongoing monitoring of files and implementation of new trading partners; configuration of inbound and outbound ANSI X12-834 eligibility files and standard and custom data extracts, maintenance of existing trading partner files, and resolving existing trading partner file issues.
Technology platforms for project delivery: QicLink (system or record), new data integrations tools which include support client eligibility and claims files. This includes EDI mapping using internal testing and validation tools, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Participate in outbound file implementation projects, including supporting project initiation, helping define timelines, coordinating internal resources, participating in project meetings, and assisting with ongoing communications with vendors and internal Allied stakeholders.
  • Assist with file (claims, eligibility, extracts) implementations, supporting accurate configuration, testing, and transitions to production.
  • Support additional EDI, claims file, or data extract implementations as required.
  • Assist as a point of contact for eligibility (834) and claims file questions, implementations, production issues, and project-related updates for both internal teams and external partners.
  • Navigate, interpret, and troubleshoot 834 formatted files and claims files with guidance as needed, including completing data mapping, supporting file testing, and resolving data and formatting issues.
  • Support the use of internal testing, validation, and monitoring tools to execute file testing, document configurations, and help maintain a single source of truth for eligibility, claims, and EDI files across teams and vendor partners.
  • Assist in monitoring file processing status and performance through eligibility audit reports, claims reporting, and other reporting mechanisms, helping to identify risks, discrepancies, or trends.
  • Support the review, investigation, and resolution of data discrepancies related to eligibility, claims, accumulators, or downstream impacts, coordinating with customer service, account management, IT, and vendor/client contacts.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support implementation milestones and delivery timelines, escalating risks or blockers as needed.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and escalating complex data or file processing issues with internal and external partners, providing clear documentation and recommended next steps.
  • Support data quality initiatives by following established controls and contributing to the improvement of testing, documentation, and operational processes.
  • Partner with Data Operations leadership to support assigned initiatives, provide status updates, and contribute subject matter knowledge to broader data management efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • At least 2-3 years experience working with inbound and outbound ANSI X12 834 EDI files, including some experience with the X12 834 format
  • Working knowledge of data management, data warehousing, and coding languages
  • Basic experience in SQL and Microsoft Power BI, along with strong computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data integration programs involving all components including source systems, ETL, data quality/integrity, database, and delivery mechanisms and EDI business processes, practices, and procedures within healthcare environment
  • Strong work-ethic and positive attitude and exceptional ability to manage multiple projects across functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and an ability to provide recommendations on data integrations and applications
  • Strategic, conceptual analytical thinking and ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to advise on complex technical matters to all stakeholders; ability to communicate effectively with management.
