The Role: Maintenance Contracts Administrator

As a Maintenance Contracts Administrator within Reliability Engineering, you will manage and administer service and maintenance agreements that support critical data center infrastructure. This role exists to ensure uninterrupted maintenance coverage, vendor accountability, cost control, and compliance with Switch standards. You will serve as the liaison between Facilities teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure performance expectations are met and service agreements align with operational reliability goals.

What Youll Do
  • Develop, negotiate, and administer service and maintenance contracts for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, UPS, generator, and other critical systems.

  • Track contract renewals, expirations, and performance metrics to ensure uninterrupted coverage.

  • Negotiate pricing, scope, and performance standards to maintain cost efficiency and service quality.

  • Ensure vendor agreements comply with Switch standards and applicable OSHA, county, and state requirements.

  • Evaluate vendor performance through audits, reporting, and service reviews.

  • Partner with Facilities, Availability, and Maintenance teams to assess service needs and vendor compliance.

  • Maintain vendor orientation, safety documentation, and compliance records.

  • Manage change orders, amendments, and contract documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline agreements and reduce operational costs.

  • Maintain accurate contract records within contract management and CMMS platforms.

  • Familiarity with data center electrical, mechanical, HVAC, UPS, and generator systems.

  • Experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing service performance.

  • Proficiency with contract management software, CMMS platforms, and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in mission-critical data center or industrial environments.

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or related field.

  • Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, and local regulatory standards.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
