Job description

Description

Shape enterprise security across TELUS' transformation & lead architecture decisions that balance security rigor with business velocity

Join our team and what we'll accomplish together

The Enterprise Security Architecture team drives security design across TELUS' critical security domains including IAM, application, data, network, and infrastructure security. We architect solutions spanning MSSP operations, mobile platforms, AI, cloud-modernization, and compliance landscapes while managing large-scale cloud migration and regulatory alignment. You'll develop enterprise patterns and standards that enable secure innovation across these domains while mentoring junior architects.

The Senior Technology Architect will provide enterprise security architecture leadership across large scale transformation programs, cloud adoption initiatives, enterprise platforms, regulatory compliance activities, and security modernization efforts. The position will be responsible for developing and governing enterprise security patterns, reference architectures, and solution level security guidance while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, risk management practices, and business objectives.

Why This Role Matters

  • Develop and maintain enterprise security reference architectures, standards, and patterns

  • Provide security architecture guidance for cloud, infrastructure, application, network, and data solutions

  • Conduct architecture and design reviews for major initiatives

  • Partner with delivery teams, infrastructure teams, application teams, and business stakeholders

  • Support risk assessments and security control alignment activities

  • Drive security architecture governance and decision consistency

  • Develop enterprise architecture models, viewpoints, and reusable architectural artifacts using ArchiMate

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of centralized enterprise architecture repositories and reusable security patterns

  • Mentor and guide junior architects and technical teams

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline

  • 7+ years of enterprise architecture

  • Strong experience with enterprise scale security architecture practices

  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise architecture models and documentation using ArchiMate

  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise architecture repositories, reference architectures, and reusable patterns

  • Strong experience with cloud security architecture, with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of Zero Trust, IAM, network security, data protection, and security governance

  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Experience supporting large enterprise transformation programs

Great-to-haves

  • CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, or equivalent certifications

  • Experience within Telecommunications or large enterprise environments

  • Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD security, and AI security governance

  • Experience establishing enterprise architecture governance and modeling standards

  • Experience applying TOGAF principles and enterprise architecture methodologies in large enterprise environments

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.
