As the Senior Cloud Engineer, you are responsible for leading the engineering, optimization, and continuous improvement of the organization's Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud platforms. You will provide advanced technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, security, and platform operations, ensuring cloud services are resilient, secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Working closely with the Infrastructure Solution Architect, Cloud team, Cybersecurity, Application teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, you will lead complex cloud initiatives, contribute to platform modernization, and provide technical leadership for cloud operations, migrations, and enterprise projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads the engineering, optimization, and continuous improvement of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud platforms
  • Acts as a technical resource for complex cloud initiatives, migrations, modernization efforts, and enterprise technology projects
  • Mentors Cloud Engineers and drives adoption of cloud engineering best practices
  • Leads the development and implementation of automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud engineering practices to improve scalability, consistency, and efficiency
  • Applies Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF) principles to assess and optimize cloud workloads
  • Contributes to and implements engineering standards, operational patterns, and governance practices in partnership with the Infrastructure Solutions Architect
  • Leads initiatives to improve cloud platform resilience, performance, security posture, and cost efficiency
  • Leads complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for critical cloud issues
  • Identify and implement improvements across monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, capacity management, and operational maturity
  • Partners with Architects, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Application teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver strategic cloud initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience supporting and engineering enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments
  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and optimizing Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud solutions
  • 5+ years of experience developing automation, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud engineering practices to improve scalability and operational efficiency
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex cloud initiatives, migrations, modernization efforts, and technical improvements
  • 3+ years of experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with architects, cybersecurity teams, vendors, and business stakeholders
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Azure architecture, hybrid cloud, networking, compute, storage, security, and platform optimization
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), PowerShell, Azure CLI, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and cloud engineering practices
  • Understanding of Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF), cloud standards, security controls, cost optimization, and operational excellence

  • This is a work from home position with an expectation of being present for occasional meetings in-office
