Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Remote (CST/PST Preferred)
 

About the Role

Our client is undergoing a platform migration to OpenStack and is looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help define the standards for the new environment. This role requires expertise in automation, infrastructure management, and Linux administration with a strong background in AWS, Ansible, and UCS hardware maintenance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using AWS, Ansible, Python, and shell scripting (Bash/Python).
  • Contribute to OpenStack migration efforts, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Maintain and optimize UCS hardware, ensuring infrastructure reliability and performance.
  • Administer Linux-based systems, leveraging experience with certified Linux environments (RHCSA, RHCE preferred).
  • Develop and deploy automation scripts for infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices for the new OpenStack environment.

Must-Have Skills

  • Automation & IaC Expertise– Strong experience with AWS, Ansible, Python, and shell scripting (Bash/Python) to build infrastructure automation solutions.
  • UCS Hardware Maintenance– Hands-on experience with Cisco UCS hardware, including troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Linux Administration– Prior experience working in Linux environments, preferably with RHCSA or RHCE certification.
  • OpenStack Experience– Proven experience working with OpenStack for cloud infrastructure.
