Our strong foundation of experienced IT professionals enables us to harness technology and data to solve complex business challenges.

We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Systems team. This role is ideal for a driven, technically excellent professional who thrives on designing, optimizing, and leading cloud-native solutions that directly support business growth. You will provide technical leadership, strategic guidance, and hands-on expertise to elevate our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

Position Summary

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will own the architecture, deployment, and ongoing optimization of our cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure). You will collaborate closely with development, security, and business teams to deliver resilient, automated, and compliant cloud solutions. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, mentoring others, and driving modernization initiatives in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Lead the implementation of cloud security controls, compliance frameworks, and governance policies to protect sensitive data.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud resource utilization for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Architect and support CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable application delivery.
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud-related issues and implement proactive monitoring and alerting solutions.
  • Manage containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, and related orchestration technologies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-sharing resources.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategy with evolving business objectives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute system maintenance, upgrades, patching, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the organization's strategic technology roadmap.
  • Provide expert-level support, troubleshooting, and training to internal stakeholders with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Ensure 247 operational excellence through proactive monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions.
  • Stay current with industry trends through continuous learning, professional development, and participation in relevant communities.
  • Lead or participate in initiatives to improve processes, security posture, and operational maturity.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or advanced infrastructure roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms (relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or equivalent are highly preferred).
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and operating systems (Linux and Windows).
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Preferred / Helpful Experience

  • VMware, Hyper-V, and virtual desktop infrastructure management.
  • Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Exchange, IIS, and Group Policy.
  • Microsoft SQL Server, PowerShell scripting, SCCM/SCOM, and performance monitoring tools (SNMP, WMI).
