Job description

About the job Remote | Specialist Physician - $145-$225/hour
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for board-certified, actively practising physicians with deep expertise in a defined therapeutic area and strong familiarity with clinical trials, prescribing decisions, and biotech or pharmaceutical development programmes.
This role supports an expert evaluation initiative focused on analysing commercial medicines and drug-development programmes. Selected clinicians will create and critique evaluation rubrics, interpret clinical trial endpoints, assess whether new evidence would meaningfully influence prescribing decisions, and evaluate the likely implications for real-world adoption within their therapeutic area.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Trial Evaluation

  • Review clinical trial results across relevant drug-development programmes
  • Interpret primary and secondary endpoints in the context of clinical practice
  • Assess the clinical significance of efficacy and safety findings
  • Evaluate whether trial outcomes are likely to influence treatment decisions
  • Apply disease-area expertise when interpreting complex clinical evidence
Prescribing & Treatment Assessment
  • Determine whether new clinical evidence would meaningfully change prescribing behaviour
  • Assess how emerging therapies compare with current standards of care
  • Evaluate treatment benefits, risks, patient selection, and practical prescribing considerations
  • Consider how evidence may affect treatment sequencing or therapeutic choices
  • Apply real-world clinical judgment rather than relying solely on headline trial results
Commercial Drug & Pipeline Review
  • Analyse commercial medicines and investigational drug programmes within the relevant therapeutic area
  • Assess potential clinical differentiation and real-world uptake
  • Evaluate how trial results may influence physician adoption
  • Consider competitive treatment landscapes and evolving standards of care
  • Provide expert perspective on the practical implications of development-stage evidence
Rubric Development & Expert Review
  • Create structured evaluation rubrics for drug and clinical-development analysis
  • Critique existing rubrics for accuracy, completeness, and clinical relevance
  • Define criteria that reflect experienced physician judgment
  • Identify missing considerations or misleading assumptions in analytical frameworks
  • Provide clear written reasoning supporting evaluation decisions
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
  • An MD or DO
  • Active clinical practice within a defined medical specialty
  • Board certification in the relevant specialty
  • Deep expertise in a specific therapeutic or disease area
  • Strong familiarity with clinical trial endpoints and evidence interpretation
  • Experience translating clinical evidence into prescribing decisions
  • Familiarity with biotech or pharmaceutical development programmes
  • Strong understanding of real-world treatment adoption within their specialty
  • Excellent written communication and clinical reasoning skills
  • Current US-based clinical practice
Educational Background
  • MD or DO qualification is required
  • Board certification in the relevant medical specialty is required
  • Active clinical practice is required
  • Additional research, academic, or clinical-trial experience may strengthen an application
Nice to Have
  • Experience serving as a clinical investigator
  • Participation in pharmaceutical or biotechnology clinical trials
  • Familiarity with drug-development strategy and pipeline assessment
  • Experience reviewing clinical evidence for formulary, guideline, or treatment decisions
  • Background advising pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare organisations
  • Experience evaluating emerging therapies within a competitive treatment landscape
  • Prior experience with structured expert review, rubric development, or AI evaluation
Why This Opportunity
  • Apply specialist clinical expertise to sophisticated drug-development evaluation work
  • Analyse trial endpoints through the lens of real prescribing decisions
  • Assess how new clinical evidence may influence treatment adoption
  • Contribute expert judgment to evaluations of commercial and development-stage therapies
  • Participate in a focused paid pilot with potential for recurring work
  • Work remotely with competitive specialist compensation
Contract Details
  • Independent contractor role
  • Fully remote within the United States
  • Part-time pilot engagement
  • Approximately 10-20 total hours over an initial 1-2 week period
  • Competitive rates between $145-$225 per hour depending on expertise and project scope
  • Strong contributors may be considered for recurring or expanded engagements
  • Work may include clinical-trial analysis, prescribing assessment, therapeutic-area evaluation, rubric development, and expert critique
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performance
  • Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution
