Job description

Our client, a reputable Workers' Compensation Insurance Carrier, is looking to hire a Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to their Colorado claims team due to continued growth. This role will be responsible for managing moderate to complex Workers' Compensation Lost Time claims throughout the state of Colorado from inception through resolution. Qualified candidates should possess a strong knowledge of Colorado workers' compensation law and currently reside in the state. Remote flexibility for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities:
  • Handle moderate to complex Colorado Workers' Compensation Lost Time claims from inception through closure.
  • Investigate claims to determine compensability, liability, and appropriate claim resolution strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with injured workers, employers, attorneys, medical providers, and other involved parties throughout the life of the claim.
  • Coordinate medical treatment, review medical documentation, wage information, and claim-related records to support claim decisions.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves while documenting claim activity in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and pursue recovery when applicable.
  • Ensure all claims are handled in compliance with Colorado Workers' Compensation laws, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • 3–5+ years of Workers' Compensation Lost Time claims handling experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Colorado Workers' Compensation laws and regulations.
  • Colorado claims handling experience is required.
  • Must reside in Colorado.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
Salary/Benefits:
  • $85,000 – $100,000 annual base salary, plus 15% Target Bonus
