Positive Pathways Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist to join our vibrant team in San Francisco, California. This full-time position offers the unique opportunity to work remotely in a telehealth setting, allowing you to provide essential mental health services to the young population and their families from the comfort of your own home. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand the challenges faced by children and adolescents and their families.
  • Design, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans that consider the developmental stages of young clients and encompass family dynamics.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness techniques, to address various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

  • Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, utilizing skills to de-escalate situations effectively.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, available treatments, and local resources for additional support.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently for documentation.
  • Actively engage in team meetings and professional development activities to promote a continuous learning environment.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent mental health to enhance service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this position is on children and adolescents battling emotional and behavioral health issues. Our practice aims to support those struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and a range of other mental health disorders. By creating individualized approaches toward therapy, we empower young patients to navigate their challenges and improve their overall well-being.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.
  • A solid understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering effective individual and family therapy to children and adolescents.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building trust and rapport with young clients and their families.
