This position is entirely remote, allowing you flexibility in scheduling and work-life balance while still facilitating impactful therapeutic sessions. • Conduct individualized in-home therapy sessions or oversee group therapy sessions, aimed at enhancing coping strategies and emotional well-being among young clients.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to mitigate high-risk behaviors such as self-injury or physical aggression, providing children with essential anger management and social skills education.
• Assist caregivers in improving their decision-making capabilities regarding in-home behavioral issues through targeted support and intervention strategies.
• Work closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and coordinate efforts with other specialists to ensure holistic care for each child and family you serve.
• Document all client interactions, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, clearly and in accordance with established timelines.
• Participate in regular team meetings to share insights, discuss case progress, and contribute to strategic care planning initiatives.

Your role will focus primarily on children aged 3 to 20 years old, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). You will work with a diverse group of young clients, including those who are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese, creating an inclusive therapeutic environment that respects cultural and linguistic diversity.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory to practice in Connecticut.
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with flexibility for additional hours on weekends being a valuable asset.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for transportation to in-home sessions.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting for safety and compliance.

• Experience in providing positive behavior support is highly desired.
• Prior work with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus, enhancing the therapeutic rapport you can build with clients and families.
• Experience conducting therapy in a bilingual English-Spanish or English-Portuguese environment is preferred for this position.
