Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is actively seeking a committed and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team. This position offers a remote work setting, allowing successful candidates to provide therapy from their homes, while still maintaining collaboration with our interdisciplinary team. You will have access to essential tools and resources, including telehealth platforms, clinical documentation systems, and continuous support from clinical supervisors.

• Conduct individual therapy sessions and group sessions with clients in a variety of settings, including home visits and supporting outpatient clinic activities.
• Utilize therapeutic techniques to reduce high-risk behaviors, teaching essential skills such as anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans after thorough assessments, addressing the specific needs of each child and family.
• Collaborate effectively within a Child Family Treatment Team and other healthcare professionals, sharing insights and strategizing interventions for holistic care.
• Maintain detailed documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and intake assessments, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and state regulations.
• Attend and actively participate in regular team meetings to review cases, provide recommendations, and improve service delivery.

Our services are primarily directed toward children aged 3 to 20 years, particularly those with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The ideal candidate will be able to address the multifaceted needs of both clients and their families, creating inclusive therapeutic environments and promoting decisions that aid in behavioral regulation and emotional well-being. You will play a vital role in enhancing the overall quality of life for these children and empowering their caregivers through education and support.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted LMFT licensure in Maryland.
• A minimum commitment of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm) is required, with weekend availability considered a significant advantage.
• Evidence of successful experience in providing positive behavior support, particularly within a familial context.
• Pediatric experience, especially working with children facing intellectual or developmental disabilities, is highly preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to attend home visits and appointments.
• Eligibility to pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

• Prior experience working with children aged 3-20, effectively implementing therapeutic strategies to address behavioral and emotional challenges.
• Demonstrated competence in utilizing trauma-informed care principles and methods within therapy.
• Ability to effectively communicate in both English and a second language—preferably Spanish or Portuguese—is highly desirable to better serve our diverse community.
