Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) - Volunteer Executive Role

The Donovan's Venom 501c3

Full-time

Re-posted 2 days ago

Job description

The Donovan's Venom, INC. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing music, art, and entertainment to those who need it most.

Chief Strategy Officer (CSO)

Remote (U.S. or Canada) | Executive Leadership | Volunteer

This Is Not Just a Role — It’s a Build Opportunity

We are building a scalable, multi‑division ecosystem that redefines access to fine arts and music education, removing barriers, expanding reach, and creating opportunities where they’ve never existed before.

The Role

The Chief Strategy Officer will serve as the strategic engine of the organization — shaping long‑term direction, identifying growth pathways, and ensuring every initiative laddered back to mission impact and scalability.

  • Where are we going?
  • How do we scale?
  • What should we build next?
  • How do we ensure it actually works?
What You’ll Own Enterprise Strategy
  • Define and evolve the organization’s long‑term strategy
  • Translate mission into scalable, executable initiatives
  • Establish enterprise‑level success metrics and KPIs
Growth & Expansion
  • Identify and drive opportunities for scale (programs, partnerships, reach)
  • Build strategies that expand access while maintaining quality and impact
  • Evaluate where we should invest — and where we should not
Partnership Ecosystem
  • Design and lead the organization’s partnership strategy
  • Build relationships that unlock growth, visibility, and sustainability
  • Ensure every partnership moves the mission forward
Data, Insights & Decision‑Making
  • Bring structure to ambiguity through research, analysis, and insight
  • Guide leadership decisions with data — not assumptions
  • Identify risks before they become problems
Impact & Accountability
  • Define how we measure success — beyond activity, into real impact
  • Ensure strategy translates into outcomes, not just plans
Executive Influence
  • Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to leadership
  • Drive alignment across functions and initiatives
  • Push the organization to think bigger, smarter, and more strategically
Who This Is For
  • Thinks in systems, not tasks
  • Sees patterns, opportunities, and risks before others do
  • Is comfortable operating in build‑mode, not maintenance
  • Can move between vision and execution seamlessly
  • Understands how to scale impact — not just ideas
Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years in strategy, consulting, business development, or leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience driving strategic initiatives and growth
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities
Preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit, education, or mission‑driven environments
  • Background in consulting or enterprise strategy
  • Experience leading cross‑functional or organizational initiatives
Commitment
  • 10–20 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule
  • Fully remote
What You’ll Gain
  • Help build a high‑impact organization from the inside out
  • Operate at an executive level with real influence
  • Shape strategy across multiple emerging divisions
  • Leave a measurable legacy tied to access, equity, and creative opportunity
Application Requirements (Read Carefully)

We are building actively — not passively. To ensure alignment:

  • You must be able to start within 14 days
  • You must complete the full application process
  • You must be willing to sign a Non‑Disclosure Agreement (NDA) if selected
Important Disclaimer

This is a volunteer leadership role. We are currently onboarding individuals who are ready to contribute immediately. Please only apply if you are prepared to begin within the next 30 days.
