Job description

Would like a hybrid employee (if local to DFW area), but would be open to a fully remote candidate for this unique role.  

JOB SUMMARY
Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) is committed to the operation of an effective compliance program.  The Corporate Compliance Manager works under the direction of the Compliance Vice President and/or Director to manage ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of and adherence to BSWH policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations


SALARY

The pay range for this position is $40.35 (entry-level qualifications) - $62.52 (more experienced) The specific rate will depend upon the successful candidate’s specific qualifications and prior experience


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Collaborates with the BSWH Compliance Director and/or Chief Compliance Officer to serve as the technical expert for BSWH as it relates to applicable laws, regulations and guidance related to compliance risk areas.
Assist the Compliance Director and/or Chief Compliance Officer with the design and implementation of the annual audit plan for the BSWH Compliance Program.
Manages workflow and the compliance audit process to ensure that compliance audits are completed timely and in agreement with regulatory requirements and the Corporate Compliance audit plan. Provides written reports on auditing activities, including, but not limited to: identifying and assessing risks, planning and conducting compliance reviews, compiling review documents and reporting findings, and recommendations including corrective action plans, regulatory guidance and/or education.
Assists the Compliance Director, Chief Compliance Officer and/or the BSWH Law Department, to respond to federal, state and internal investigations, overseeing project direction for timelines and regulatory compliance, maintaining project documentation, government correspondence and project database.
Establishes collaborative partnerships with key members of management to evaluate and address business ethics and compliance issues on an ongoing basis, identifying and implementing leading-edge principles and practices.
Maintains current knowledge of government laws, guidance and regulations to determine risk and impact on BSWH operational procedures, communicating changes to pertinent individuals and assisting in the modification of the existing or development of a new process to comply with the regulatory changes.  
Maintains professional competency through continuing professional education
Reviews and updates procedures, recommends updates in policies and recommends new policies as appropriate.
Responsible to develop and retain staff, providing performance feedback and corrective action. 
Acts as a technical resource for staff and provides project direction and oversight, evaluating project status, modifying priorities as required. 
Completes annual staff evaluations, monitor goal progress by meeting with staff to ensure goals are attained, provide mentoring, training and career development opportunities that align with BSWH Talent Management path for professional and career development.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Healthcare  experience preferred.
Management experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of corporate compliance and business ethics programs, HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory requirements, interview and investigation skills. 
Mastery of computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases along with proficient writing skills, preparation of formal presentations and reports, and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely (both oral and written) are also required.
