About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to join our Accounting organization. The role reports directly to the VP, Accounting and will have a visible seat on strategic conversations with the Chief Financial Officer, Head of Investor Relations and the Chief Accounting Officer. This individual will lead the preparation of the Company's external financial reporting, ensure compliance with SEC and U.S. GAAP requirements, prepare / review technical accounting memos on complex judgment areas, and help maintain a strong internal control environment.
The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with excellent project management and communication skills. This role partners closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Investor Relations, Tax, Internal Audit, and external auditors to deliver high-quality financial reporting while supporting process improvements and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
  • Support the preparation of SEC filings (Form 10-Q, 10-K, Proxy, etc.) including managing the review and approval process with external auditors, senior management, legal counsel, disclosure committee and audit committee.
  • Prepare or review quarterly financial statements, earnings per share calculations and disclosure checklists as well as ensure compliance with all GAAP and disclosure requirements
  • Manage quarterly reporting, auditor PBC requests, and auditor reviews to ensure timely completion of quarter-end reporting activities.

Equity and Technical Accounting
  • Prepare or review monthly journal entries, accounting analyses, and reconciliations related to stock-based compensation and other equity-based transactions.
  • Lead the research, evaluation, and documentation of technical accounting conclusions under US GAAP, including preparation of clear and concise technical accounting memos.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes to accounting standards and proactively identify potential impacts to the Company's financial statements.

Controls and Process Improvements
  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve financial reporting, technical accounting, and stock compensation accounting processes using AI and other automation tools.
  • Monitor and revise procedures to ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and equity accounting.
What We're Looking For
We're excited to meet candidates who have many of the following qualifications:
  • BA or BS in finance/accounting, CPA
  • 6-8 years of financial reporting and technical accounting experience in the Technology industry and/or public accounting firm
  • Experience accounting for stock-based compensation under ASC 718 in a publicly traded company as well as experience working with the E*TRADE Equity Edge Online platform.
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to balance recurring deadlines and longer-term technical projects
  • A proactive worker with integrity and accountability, while also being a team player
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Workspace
  • NetSuite, Etrade Equity Edge Online, Clearwater experience is a plus
  • Experience with automation or AI is a plus (Claude, Alteryx, Domo, Google Apps Script)
Compensation
The anticipated total compensation for this role is $154,400 - $206,667, depending on factors such as experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
