About the Organization

At Chat and Change Counseling, LLC, we pride ourselves on creating a nurturing environment tailored to support trauma survivors in their healing journeys. We specialize in evidence-based approaches for treating complex mental health concerns such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our mission is centered around fostering resilience and recovery, ensuring every client receives the care they need in a compassionate, safe setting.

This role provides the unique advantage of a remote work setting, allowing for both flexibility and comfort while maintaining strong team collaboration and communication through regular virtual meetings. Our outpatient office serves as a resource hub, and therapists have access to essential tools and team expertise to facilitate effective treatment. We encourage work-life balance and prioritize the well-being of our team members.

  • Design and execute individualized treatment plans with clearly defined goals for trauma recovery, focusing on fostering resilience and personal growth.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help patients navigate their trauma.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at equipping patients with coping strategies, promoting emotional processing, and enhancing the healing process.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for patients in trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and composure.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms, while guiding them towards available resources for continued support.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards, ensuring quality compliance in all clinical interactions.
  • Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development focused on the latest trauma-informed care practices.
  • Stay informed about emerging research and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on empowering individuals who have experienced trauma, with particular attention to those suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. We create tailored interventions to help patients regain control over their lives and develop healthy coping mechanisms, ensuring they feel understood and supported throughout their therapeutic process.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting post-licensure, ideally specializing in trauma-informed care.
  • Comprehensive understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating compassion and a non-judgmental attitude towards patients.
  • Able to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and provide effective crisis management.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
  • Capacity to work cohesively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Experience

Preferred applicants will have a strong foundation in trauma-focused therapies and interventions, alongside a proven history of successful patient engagement and outcomes. Additional specialization in trauma-informed approaches will be viewed favorably.
