Job Details
ChristianaCare is currently looking for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join ChristianaCare Hospitalist Partners (CCHP), a large and established hospital employed group of over 150 physicians and 30 advanced practice clinicians servicing 3 hospital campuses (1,300 beds) in Newark and Wilmington, DE and Elkton, MD in a part-time or full-time virtual nocturnist role.
The selected virtual nocturnist candidate will provide remote clinical management to patients at the Newark and Wilmington campus located in Delaware and Cecil campus located in Maryland with the support and collaboration by a hospitalist physician.
This is a unique opportunity to practice in an acute care setting from your home!
Full-time and part-time positions available.
Nocturnist APC Hospitalist Details:
  • 13-16 shifts per 4-week block (includes 2 full weekends)
  • Shifts include 9:30p-8:30a, 11:30p-8:30a

Clinical Duties:
  • Performing cross coverage on patients admitted under inpatient status.
  • Assesses health status of assigned patients through complete medical history and chart review
  • Analyze patient data and formulate an individualize plan of care based on patient assessment and needs in collaboration with the physician, nursing, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of prescribed management plan.
  • Establish priorities based on patient needs and act on these accordingly.
  • Order, interpret, and/or perform necessary diagnostic testing or labs.
  • Initiate referral to appropriate resources and services.
  • Foster efficient patient flow through system or discharge.
  • Complete appropriate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), which progress notes and orders
  • Submit billing in a timely fashion according to policy.
  • Utilize teaching/learning principles coupled with an expert clinical knowledge to promote and provide education and counseling to the patient and/or family including teach back.
  • Act as a liaison for patients, families, and other health professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of best practice guidelines/protocols, quality and performance improvement projects, algorithms, and research.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist in efforts to improve patient satisfaction scores.
  • Learns and uses new information, skills and knowledge.
  • Maintains privileges, mandatory education, and regulatory requirements as needed for area of specialization.

Requirements:
  • Licensed or eligible for Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of Delaware and Maryland
  • Acute Care NP license required
  • Prescriptive Authority or eligibility for the state of Delaware and Maryland
  • DEA registration required for Delaware and Maryland
  • ACLS required
  • Minimum 3 years' inpatient experience required, hospitalist preferred but may consider other specialty experience

Annual Compensation Range $112,071.00 - $141,440.00
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
