Remote Cement Plant Instrumentation information

What is a remote cement plant instrumentation job?

Remote cement plant instrumentation jobs involve managing, monitoring, and maintaining the instruments and control systems used in cement manufacturing, often from a remote location. Professionals in these roles ensure that automated systems, sensors, and measurement devices are functioning correctly to optimize production efficiency and safety. They may use specialized software to track equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with on-site teams for maintenance or repairs. These positions require strong technical skills, knowledge of industrial automation, and experience with process control systems commonly used in cement plants.

What skills and qualifications are needed for a remote cement plant instrumentation engineer?

To thrive as a Remote Cement Plant Instrumentation Engineer, you need a solid background in instrumentation engineering, process control, and industrial automation, usually supported by a relevant engineering degree. Familiarity with distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), SCADA systems, and calibration tools is essential, along with certifications in automation or instrumentation. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and attention to detail help you collaborate remotely and address technical issues efficiently. These skills and qualifications ensure reliable plant operations, minimize downtime, and maintain safety and quality standards in a remote environment.

What are common challenges faced by remote cement plant instrumentation professionals and how can they be addressed?

Remote cement plant instrumentation professionals often encounter challenges such as troubleshooting equipment malfunctions without direct access, ensuring robust data communication between remote systems, and maintaining accurate calibration of sensors in harsh environments. Proactive maintenance planning, strong communication with onsite teams, and leveraging diagnostic tools or remote monitoring software can help address these issues. Building solid relationships with both the engineering and operations teams also ensures quicker resolution of problems and more effective preventative measures.

Lead Solution Manager

Imubit

Houston, TX • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Posted 9 days ago

Job description

TL;DR:
Imubit is looking for a Lead Solution Manager to join our Delivery team in a hybrid leadership role that combines direct customer ownership with people leadership. You will lead and develop a small team of Solution Managers and engineers across a cluster of related sites while continuing to own Solution Manager responsibilities for at least one site. You will be accountable for the performance and development of your team, as well as the overall health, success, and growth of the customer accounts you support.
This job is open to remote candidates in the US
ABOUT IMUBIT
Imubit is redefining how industrial companies adopt and scale enterprise AI, adding millions of dollars to plant bottom lines while operating safely within energy and sustainability constraints. Our AI platform supports real-time optimization across complex, nonlinear industrial systems, enabling both autonomous and guided decision-making in live production environments. Backed by Insight Partners, Imubit brings together deep domain expertise from companies such as Exxon and Shell with leading AI talent from Google and other top innovators. With teams across the United States, Europe, Asia, and a growing international presence, Imubit is transforming operational optimization across industries ranging from refining and petrochemicals to cement and mining.
WHY IMUBIT
  • Work at the cutting edge of industrial AI with Fortune 500 companies transforming how they operate.
  • Cement is a growing part of Imubit's business - you would be shaping how we deliver in the industry.
  • Join a high-trust, cross-disciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, economists, and product innovators.
  • Flexible, remote-first working culture with a collaborative, ideas-welcome environment.
  • A growing company with room for your role to grow with it.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Lead a small Delivery team of customer-facing Solution Managers and Technical Implementation/Systems Integration Engineers - across one account or a cluster of related sites, while staying hands-on as the direct account owner (Solution Manager) for at least one site.
  • Own the account cadence above the site - steering committees, quarterly and annual business reviews - and bring members of your team into those rooms as they are ready.
  • Guide the technical work rather than performing it: evaluate the approach, challenge a modeling or integration decision, and keep the team pointed at the customer's outcome.
  • Lead customers through adoption and self-modeling across several sites, keeping deployed solutions generating value as their process and economics evolve, and making sure the value story is agreed with the customer and measured on a basis they accept.
  • Run office hours, training sessions, and working groups with the customer's own engineers.
  • Develop the people on your team through goal-setting, regular one-on-ones, honest feedback, and participation in the performance and leveling cycle.
  • Coordinate resourcing across the sites you lead, and partner with Account Directors on renewal strategy, expansion, and commercial health.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience & Background
  • 7+ years of professional experience, including time spent in or serving heavy industrial environments such as refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, NGL, mining, cement, or pulp and paper.
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated people management experience, including responsibility for team performance, employee development and feedback.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a customer's outcome from inside their organization, past go-live rather than up to it - forward-deployed engineering, deployed solutions architecture, embedded customer engineering, technical account management, or consulting for industrial clients.
  • A clear appetite for managing - aptitude and desire, not just willingness.
  • Experience leading multi-site or enterprise accounts rather than a single site.
  • Comfortable presenting to and engaging with executive-level stakeholders from day one.
  • Willingness to travel 20-25% as required.

Skills & Competencies
  • Leadership and Mentoring: A strong interest in developing the people on your team, and the ability to get results through them while still owning work of your own.
  • Strategic Account Mindset: Drive to see customers succeed, paired with the instinct to zoom out from day-to-day delivery to the long-term health and growth of the account - including managing expectations, handling difficult conversations, and turning skeptics into advocates.
  • Industrial Fluency: Deep enough understanding of heavy industrial processes, control systems, and optimization concepts to earn the trust of engineers and operators, and to guide technical decisions alongside your team.
  • Teaching and Enablement: Comfortable working with a customer's engineers in both group and one-to-one settings, building understanding that outlasts your time on site.
  • Influence Without Authority: Skilled at aligning stakeholders, internally and externally, toward a shared outcome without a command-and-control structure.
  • Executive Communication: Clear, concise, and confident communicator in both written and verbal formats, able to adapt your message to your audience.

Education
  • BSc in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a Solution Manager, technical account lead, or equivalent.
  • Experience with process control, expert systems, or plant optimization solutions.
  • Background in consulting or a customer-facing vendor role serving industrial clients.
  • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics applied to industrial processes.
  • Experience with subscription-based SaaS delivery models and recurring revenue dynamics.
  • Experience building enablement material such as curricula, worked examples, or sandboxes.
