What does a remote cement engineer do?

A Remote Cement Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing cementing operations in the oil and gas industry, often from a remote location. They analyze well data, select appropriate cementing materials, and provide technical support to field teams to ensure well integrity and safety. Using specialized software and real-time data, they monitor operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role allows for collaboration with on-site personnel while optimizing well construction and maintenance remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote cement engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Cement Engineer, you need a solid background in petroleum engineering, cementing operations, and a relevant engineering degree. Familiarity with industry-standard software like Halliburton's Landmark, Schlumberger's CemCADE, and wellbore simulation tools is essential, along with relevant certifications such as IWCF or Well Control. Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate remotely with multidisciplinary teams set top performers apart. These skills and qualifications are crucial for designing safe, efficient cementing programs and ensuring well integrity while working from remote locations.

How does a remote cement engineer typically collaborate with on-site teams to ensure project success?

Job description

TL;DR:
Imubit is looking for a strategic, customer-focused Solution Manager to join our Delivery team. This is a pivotal role at the intersection of industrial domain expertise, project leadership, and enterprise account management. You will serve as the primary face of Imubit to our customers - owning the success, growth, and long-term health of a portfolio of accounts across refining, petrochemical, cement, and mining industries.
If the Account Director is the "CEO" of an account, you are the "COO" - responsible for translating strategy into execution, ensuring value delivery at every stage of the customer journey, and identifying new opportunities to expand the relationship. This role is not just about delivery - it is about strategic partnership, customer retention, and revenue growth.
This job is open to remote candidates in the US
ABOUT IMUBIT
Imubit is redefining how industrial companies adopt and scale enterprise AI, adding millions of dollars to plant bottom lines while operating safely within energy and sustainability constraints. Our AI platform supports real-time optimization across complex, nonlinear industrial systems, enabling both autonomous and guided decision-making in live production environments. Backed by Insight Partners, Imubit brings together deep domain expertise from companies such as Exxon and Shell with leading AI talent from Google and other top innovators. With teams across the United States, Europe, Asia, and a growing international presence, Imubit is transforming operational optimization across industries ranging from cement and mining to refining and petrochemicals.
WHY IMUBIT
  • Work at the cutting edge of industrial AI with Fortune 500 companies transforming how they operate.
  • Cement is a growing part of Imubit's business - you would be shaping how we deliver in the industry.
  • Join a high-trust, cross-disciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, economists, and product innovators.
  • Flexible, remote-first working culture with a collaborative, ideas-welcome environment.
  • A growing company with room for your role to grow with it.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Imubit is looking for a strategic, consultative Solution Manager to join our Delivery team and own the success of our cement customers - the relationships and the long-term health of each account. That means understanding what actually matters to their business, guiding the technical work that delivers it, and building the kind of trust that keeps them with us for years.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Support customer success end-to-end - running the full account cadence, tracking account health, and tracking and clearing risks and blockers.
  • Build trusted relationships across every level of the customer organization, from control room operators to plant and corporate leadership.
  • Lead the full project lifecycle: scoping, stakeholder alignment, team coordination, milestone tracking, and successful commissioning.
  • Anticipate project risks before they surface and put mitigation plans in place - keeping execution on track without sacrificing quality.
  • Coordinate a cross-functional delivery team, earning influence through credibility rather than authority.
  • Keep deployed solutions generating value as the customer's process and economics evolve, and identify new opportunities across the site.
  • Communicate Imubit's capabilities and limitations clearly, from the control room to the C-suite, and channel field insight back to shape our roadmap.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience & Background
  • 4+ years of experience in cement or a comparable heavy industrial process environment.
  • Cement experience and exposure to advanced process control are strongly preferred; adjacent pyroprocessing or minerals-processing backgrounds considered where the customer-facing track record is strong.
  • Demonstrated track record in one or more of the following: program or project management in a manufacturing or industrial setting; plant or process engineering with a customer-facing or consulting component; technical account management or customer success with industrial software or technology.
  • Experience working cross-functionally across operations, engineering, and commercial teams.
  • Comfortable presenting to and engaging with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel 20-25% as required.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strategic Account Mindset: A genuine drive to see customers succeed, paired with the instinct to zoom out from day-to-day delivery to the long-term health and growth of the account - including managing expectations, handling difficult conversations, and turning skeptics into advocates.
  • Project Leadership: Natural project management instincts - you anticipate risks, keep multiple workstreams organized, and drive execution with urgency and quality.
  • Industrial Fluency: Deep enough understanding of cement or comparable heavy industrial processes, control systems, and optimization concepts to earn the trust of engineers and operators, and to guide technical decisions alongside your team.
  • Influence Without Authority: Skilled at aligning stakeholders, internally and externally, toward a shared outcome without a command-and-control structure.
  • Executive Communication: Clear, concise, and confident communicator in both written and verbal formats, able to adapt your message to your audience.

Education
  • BSc in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with process control, expert systems, or plant optimization solutions.
  • Background in consulting or a customer-facing vendor role serving industrial clients.
  • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics applied to industrial processes.
  • Experience with subscription-based SaaS delivery models and recurring revenue dynamics.
