Remote CDL Graduates often face challenges such as adapting to long hours on the road, managing time effectively for deliveries, and learning to navigate various routes without in-person guidance. These competencies are vital for ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and successful transport operations in a remote driving environment.

What is a Remote CDL Graduate?

These programs combine online coursework with in-person driving practice at designated locations. Remote CDL graduates are trained to operate commercial vehicles and are qualified to take the CDL exam required for careers in truck driving and commercial transportation. After graduation, they can pursue jobs such as long-haul truck drivers, delivery drivers, or other roles requiring a CDL.

Job description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced CDL Driver (Independent Contractor) to support our construction operations in Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites. As a 1099 contractor, you’ll operate under your own business entity while collaborating closely with our project team to ensure deliveries meet scheduling and safety requirements.

You’ll need to operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, maintain your vehicle in excellent working order, and uphold professional communication with our dispatch and site managers. This role is ideal for a reliable, detail-oriented driver who understands construction logistics and values safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver materials and equipment to designated construction sites.

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any issues promptly.

  • Secure loads properly to ensure safe transport.

  • Maintain compliance with DOT and state regulations, including hours-of-service and weight limits.

  • Coordinate with dispatchers and site managers for scheduling and delivery needs.

  • Maintain accurate delivery and mileage logs as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for appropriate vehicle class.

  • Clean driving record (no major violations or accidents within the past 3 years).

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test.

  • Proven experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably in construction or heavy equipment transport.

  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards and traffic regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with heavy haul or oversized loads.

  • Familiarity with GPS and route optimization tools.

  • Mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle troubleshooting.

  • Additional endorsements (HazMat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples) are a plus.

  • Experience working on construction sites.

Contract Terms:
  • 1099 Independent Contractor (not an employee).

  • Must provide proof of liability and vehicle insurance.

  • Compensation: $27-$30/hour

  • Project Location: Washington State (travel to local job sites required).
