Job description

ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking a Sr. Engineer with strong Protection & Control (P&C) experience to support the design, development, and execution of substation and power system projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering design and technical execution of P&C systems for substations (typically 4kV–500kV)
  • Develop and review:
    • Protection schemes (line, bus, transformer, feeder)
    • One-line diagrams, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met
  • Support project lifecycle activities from concept through commissioning
  • Perform equipment selection and specification (relays, CTs/PTs, breakers, SCADA integration)
  • Conduct peer reviews, QA/QC, and ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, NEC, and client standards
  • Provide technical support during construction and commissioning, including troubleshooting
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in substation engineering, with a focus on P&C
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Relay protection schemes (SEL, GE, Siemens, ABB)
    • Substation design packages (drawings/specs)
  • Strong understanding of power system fundamentals
  • Experience working with utilities, EPC firms, or consulting engineering companies
  • Familiarity with NERC/PRC standards and IEEE guidelines
  • Experience coordinating designs through interdisciplinary reviews

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
  • Experience with tools such as:
    • AutoCAD or MicroStation
    • Bluebeam
  • Experience in leading project design for greenfield and brownfield applications
