AWS Data Architect

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a AWS Data Architect to oversee enterprise data platform architecture, data modeling and governance. This role combines hands on technical leadership with architectural ownership of scalable, secure and governed data platform solutions on AWS.

The ideal candidate will own the data architecture and governance framework, define best practices for analytical and streaming workloads and guide engineering teams through design, implementation and optimization. This role works closely with business stakeholders, data engineers and integration partners to ensure data solutions are reliable, performant and aligned with enterprise strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide hands on technical leadership through code reviews, architecture/design walkthroughs and implementation guidance.
  • Design, implement and evolve event driven and real time data streaming architectures.
  • Define and enforce best practices for data access, storage and processing across Analytical and operational use cases
  • Architect and implement scalable data platforms using AWS native services, with deep hands on expertise inPython, AWS Glue, API Gateway, Kinesis, AWS Lambda, SQL and Redshift
  • Ensure data architectures effectively support analytics, reporting and AI/ML use cases.
  • Drive end to end data modeling across operational and analytical domains
  • Define and implement robust data quality frameworks, including validation rules, automated checks and reconciliation logic to ensure data integrity across both streaming and analytical data pipelines
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to deliver data driven solutions.
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards including metadata management and cataloging cloud native governance and cataloging services.
  • Own and govern schema design and evolution across structured and semi-structured data formats (relational, JSON, Parquet)
  • Design and implement monitoring, logging and event based alertingusing Amazon CloudWatch and SNS
  • Ensure pipelines are fault tolerant, observable, resilient and scalable

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 11+ years in software engineering or relevant IT experience
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture patterns (lakehouse, warehouse, mesh)
  • Hands on expertise with AWS services including SQS, API Gateway, SNS, Kinesis, Glue, Event Bridge,Redshift, Lambda, CloudWatch, RDS.
  • Proven experience designing and operating enterprise scale data platforms on AWS
  • Solid experience withdata modeling, including designing scalable data structures for analytical and operational workloads.
  • Strong understanding of event driven architecturesand real time data streaming patterns
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and IAM implementationwithin AWS cloud environments.
  • Experience with Agentic AI or AI drivendata ingestion (e.g, using LLMs fordata productcreation, developer enablement).
  • Experiencewith infrastructure as code (CDK/Terraform) and modern dev ops practices (CI/CD, GIT)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with business stakeholders.
