BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is hiring anIT Operations Center Technicianfor ourIT Operations Center Team!

In this role, you will help ensure the stability and reliability of critical enterprise systems by monitoring production environments, supporting scheduled and unscheduled batch processing, responding to operational alerts, and performing first-level incident triage and remediation. You'll be part of a collaborative operations team responsible for monitoring system health, troubleshooting failed jobs and operational exceptions, supporting workload scheduling requests, and helping resolve issues that impact business-critical services.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a willingness to learn. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or grow their IT career while gaining hands-on experience in enterprise operations, systems monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting. Job Responsibilities

  • Performing first-level triage of events, such as running scripts to restart system processes and services.
  • Analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving system errors, malfunctions, mis-configurations, and job stoppages to maintain services, enhance capabilities, and prevent system outages.
  • Processing output produced from nightly batch.
  • Renaming, cataloging, and un-cataloging data sets on tapes and disk.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts in a 24x7x365 work environment, including mandatory rotating weekend, holiday, and overtime assignments.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Associates Degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. (Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of technical experience for every year of college requested).

Experience

  • 1 year - Technical experience including knowledge and proven understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) required

Skills\Certifications

  • Working knowledge of mainframe processes and workload automation tools, enterprise monitoring tools, trouble ticketing systems, Windows Operating Systems, and Unix operating systems (AIX, Solaris, or HPUX)
  • Proficient in MicroSoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint)
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills and ability to perform non-routine analytical tasks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Conflict management and resolution skills
