Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based psychotherapy services to hospice patients and their families. Your responsibilities include the following:

  • Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate patients' psychological, emotional, and social needs, informing personalized treatment plans.
  • Utilizing therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to provide effective and compassionate care.
  • Performing regular follow-ups and ongoing assessments to adapt treatment plans based on patient progress and changing needs.
  • Documenting treatment progress and maintaining clinical records in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and palliative care providers, to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
  • Facilitating family meetings to provide education on mental health issues and discuss treatment options and community resources.
  • Engaging in continuous learning by attending professional webinars, workshops, and peer review meetings to enhance skills and treatment strategies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on hospice patients experiencing a myriad of mental health challenges related to serious illness, grief, or life transitions. This role requires sensitivity, compassion, and advanced clinical skills to support patients and families during difficult times. You will play a crucial role in fostering emotional resilience and improving cognitive coping mechanisms as patients navigate end-of-life experiences.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Valid LICSW license in the state of Washington.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy, ideally with a focus on hospice or end-of-life care.
