Patient Access Specialist


Location: Cary, NC | Hybrid


COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

• Pay: $22.50 per hour

• Operating hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM EST

• Flexible schedule required within operating hours

• Occasional Saturday shifts and overtime based on business needs

• Employment Type: Temporary


ROLE IMPACT

Help patients gain timely access to critical therapies by supporting insurance, reimbursement, and financial assistance processes. As a Health Services Specialist, you will serve as a key liaison between patients, providers, payers, and internal teams to ensure accurate documentation, efficient case management, and a positive patient experience while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete insurance verification, benefits investigation, and patient eligibility reviews.

• Assist patients with financial assistance, copay, and foundation support programs.

• Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, payers, and internal partners to obtain and verify required information.

• Document all case activity accurately, resolve outstanding items, and escalate reimbursement or patient access barriers when appropriate.

• Meet established productivity, quality, and service-level expectations while supporting multiple workflow areas as business needs require.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience supporting insurance verification, benefits investigation, financial assistance, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare-related patient support services.

• Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to work a flexible hybrid schedule, including required onsite attendance, occasional Saturdays, and overtime as needed.
