• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the unique characteristics and necessities of older adults, ensuring to identify their psychological, cognitive, and emotional needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that consider the client’s medical and psychosocial history, as well as their current life circumstances.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and supportive psychotherapy, to help patients navigate geriatric psychiatric conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geriatric psychiatrists and primary care providers, to ensure a comprehensive treatment approach for all clients.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding mental health disorders, treatment options, and resources available within the community.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of all clinical interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state laws.

Your primary focus will be on older adults, who may present with a range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, dementia, and other geriatric conditions. You will be responsible for understanding the intricacies of geriatric mental health, allowing you to deliver empathetic and effective therapeutic interventions.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in mental health therapy, particularly with elderly clients.
• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, paired with an empathetic and patient-centered approach.
• Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and foster trust with older adults and their families.

• Prior experience working in community health settings or outpatient clinics focused on geriatric care.
• Familiarity with tele-therapy platforms and remote counseling techniques to ensure effective service delivery.
• Background in collaborating with medical professionals in delivering integrated care.
