Solace Springs Therapy is in search of a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. As a crucial member of our therapy team, you will engage with individuals facing challenges associated with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. This role is focused on providing empathetic and effective therapeutic services, emphasizing relational and interpersonal dynamics within families, marriages, and couples. This remote full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 – 130,000 annually.

This position will be based in a remote setting while primarily serving clients associated with a hospice center in Ontario, California. Our remote work model allows for flexibility in your schedule and environment, promoting a healthy work-life balance while still fostering a sense of community among team members. You will engage in video therapy sessions, ensuring accessibility for clients from various backgrounds and locations.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing individualized therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of your clients.
• Conducting thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to monitor client progress.
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to create comprehensive treatment plans that align with client goals.
• Facilitating group therapy sessions focused on healing and connection among participants.
• Developing and implementing follow-up treatment strategies to ensure continued support and encouragement for clients.
• Supervising and mentoring Associate Clinical Social Workers, Associate Marriage and Family Therapists, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselors as needed.

In your role, you will work extensively with clients in hospice care, who are dealing with terminal illnesses and the associated emotional and mental health challenges. This sensitive patient population requires a nuanced understanding of grief, loss, and coping strategies, particularly in conjunction with substance abuse issues. You will have the opportunity to make a profound impact by facilitating healing discussions and fostering connections within families during challenging times.

• A Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field is required.
• A current, valid license in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
• A strong background in therapeutic techniques and modalities.

While a minimum of three years of experience working in mental health is required, candidates with a specific focus on mood disorders are preferred. Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), will be critical. Additionally, a solid understanding of psychopharmacology and demonstrated success in coordinating care with psychiatrists and other medical professionals will enhance the effectiveness of your role.
