Remote Cardiology Research information

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote cardiology research positions?

Remote cardiology research professionals often encounter challenges related to coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and accessing patient data securely from off-site locations. Effective communication and collaboration tools are essential to ensure data integrity and timely project updates. Additionally, staying current with regulatory compliance and maintaining rigorous study protocols can require extra diligence when working remotely. However, many organizations provide robust digital infrastructures and regular virtual meetings to support successful remote teamwork.

What is remote cardiology research?

Remote cardiology research involves conducting studies and clinical trials related to the heart and cardiovascular system without requiring researchers or participants to be physically present at a central location. This type of research utilizes digital technologies, such as telemedicine, wearable devices, and secure data-sharing platforms, to collect and analyze health data from participants in different locations. Remote cardiology research enables broader patient participation, more diverse data collection, and greater flexibility in study design, while still maintaining scientific rigor and patient safety.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Remote Cardiology Research, and why are they important?

To thrive in Remote Cardiology Research, you need a solid background in medical or biological sciences, experience with clinical research methodologies, and often an advanced degree such as an MD, PhD, or MSc. Familiarity with electronic data capture (EDC) systems, statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS), and remote collaboration tools is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective virtual communication are crucial soft skills for interpreting data and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. These skills ensure the integrity of research findings, regulatory compliance, and efficient teamwork in a remote environment.

Job description

Anterisยฎ Technologies is a global structural heart company dedicated to revolutionizing cardiac care. With offices in Minneapolis, MN, US; Geneva, Switzerland; and Brisbane and Perth, Australia, we have a growing and inclusive team.

Our mission is to forge new frontiers in cardiac care by pioneering science-driven and measurable advancements to restore heart valve patients to healthy function. Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) technologies were originally designed for older, high-risk patients. Today, younger, more active patients need a better solution that will not just open and close but restore healthy heart function. We seek to restore healthy blood flow patterns by creating the world's first biomimetic TAVR valve, DurAVRยฎ THV. This cutting-edge valve, incorporating our proprietary ADAPTยฎ anti-calcification technology, is designed to mimic the natural function of a healthy heart valve.

The Research Nurse Coordinator will assist in in-house screening activities for a global, multi-center pivotal trial. This position will play a critical role in patient case planning and eligibility screening, collaborating closely with the clinical team to identify and prepare potential trial participants. This role will work closely with HCPs and the field clinical organization and will consult with cross-functional team members as needed.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Clinical Science and works collaboratively with the broader clinical science and field therapy teams to assist in subject preparation for screening activities. This is a remote position within the United States, and only minimal (10%) travel is required.

At Anteris Technologies, you'll join a mission-driven team dedicated to improving the lives of patients with aortic stenosis through breakthrough structural heart technologies while helping shape the future of structural heart care.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the endโ€‘toโ€‘end screening process, ensuring all preโ€‘procedure assessments (e.g., CT, echo, labs, risk scoring) are completed accurately and on time across participating sites.
  • Lead scientific and operational evaluation of inclusion/exclusion criteria, providing clear, defensible decisions on subject eligibility in alignment with the protocol and regulatory expectations.
  • Partner with investigators, coordinators, and field teams to drive screening performance, troubleshoot barriers, and ensure consistent application of screening criteria.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, study coordinators, and clinical teams to prioritize potential participants.
  • Provide clinical insights to support case planning and feasibility discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with GCP, FDA, and trial protocols during all screening activities.
  • Lead live screening meetings to review cases and discuss patient eligibility trends.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and protocol compliance of all screeningโ€‘related data; identify trends, gaps, and risks requiring corrective action.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure.
  • Minimum 10 years of direct cardiovascular nursing experience, preferably in CCU, CICU, or structural heart programs.
  • Proven experience in patient assessment, heart failure management, and critical care.
  • Requires prior involvement in clinical trials or research-focused nursing; randomized clinical trial experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cardiology terminology and clinical trial endpoints
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and clinical documentation.

What We Offer:

  • Opportunity to make a significant impact on the healthcare industry by advancing groundbreaking therapies.
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment with a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Competitive compensation package, including salary, performance-based bonuses, and stock options.
  • Career development opportunities and a chance to be part of a growing company that values its employees.

Health and Wellness Offerings:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • 401k + Company Match
  • Life, AD&D, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Bonus Plan Eligibility
  • Employee Equity Program
  • Paid Holidays & Vacation
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Inclusive Team Environment

This is the national market pay scale.

Salary Range
$120,000โ€”$140,000 USD

Note: We may require proof of COVID-19 vaccination to comply with health institutions, state, local municipality, and/or travel regulations.

Anteris Technologies recruits, employs, trains, compensates, and promotes regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, veteran status, and other protected status as required by applicable law. We have a clear vision: to be a place of belonging for all humans by promoting diversity, multiculturism and inclusion, as a goal and reflection across the organization. Diversity is more than a commitment - it is part of our mission to deliver the best structural heart products on a global scale.
