This position provides clinical and clerical support within the Imaging department. Responsibilities include managing patient flow, conducting patient screening, assisting patients during procedures, maintaining supplies, and supporting technologists as needed. This role also includes remote cardiac monitoring for patients undergoing MRI when they are off nursing units.

What you will do

  • Patient Interaction & Prep o Transports Patient o Verify patient identity using two identifiers. o Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent). o Educate patients about the procedure. o Communicate readiness to remote technologist.
  • Physical Setup o Position the patient correctly on the scanner table. o Prepare positioning aids o Loads contrast injector
  • Contrast Administration o Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response if needed.
  • Emergency Readiness o Initiate BLS protocols if required o Escalate to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol
  • Communication o Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan
  • Complete Exam Data Entry

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school graduate or GED.
 
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None
 
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
BLS certification.
 
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to lift and move patients.
Practical knowledge of human anatomy, or previous radiology experience preferred.
Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation preferred.
