Vantor is currently seeking a Radiometric Calibration Engineer to join the Radiometric Calibration, Assessment, and Monitoring (RadCAM) team in Longmont, CO. The RadCAM team is responsible for the relative and absolute radiometric calibration, assessment, and monitoring of Vantor's constellation. The team also performs radiometric analysis on Vantor's products and supports community outreach in the radiometric field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform image analysis, radiometric characterization, and statistical evaluation of imaging system performance

  • Develop, maintain, and improve software tools and automated workflows supporting calibration and sensor assessment activities

  • Support calibration efforts throughout the lifecycle of imaging systems, including commissioning, validation, and operational sustainment

  • Analyze large imaging and measurement datasets to derive calibration parameters and assess sensor performance trends

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and scientific teams to develop calibration methodologies and operational solutions

  • Develop scripts, applications, and data processing tools in Python and related technologies

  • Support cloud-based or distributed computing environments for data processing and analysis workflows

  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders

  • Present technical findings to peers, management, customers, and scientific audiences as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, remote sensing, optical sciences, data science, computer science, or related technical field

    • Additional relevant experience may substitute for formal education

  • Experience with software development and data analysis

  • Experience in one or more of the following:

    • remote sensing

    • image processing

    • sensor characterization

    • radiometric calibration

    • statistical analysis

  • Experience working in Linux-based computing environments

  • Familiarity with software development best practices and version control tools

  • Ability to support field or laboratory activities

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related technical discipline

  • Experience with radiometric calibration techniques

  • Knowledge of remote sensing systems

  • Experience processing and analyzing large datasets

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and distributed processing workflows

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development workflows

  • Familiarity with GIS tools and geospatial data products

  • Experience supporting field calibration or validation campaigns

Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate's experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.

The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $107,000.00 - $143,000.00 - $157,300.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
