Remote C Winforms Developer information

What is a remote C# Winforms developer?

Remote C# Winforms Developers are software engineers who specialize in building desktop applications using the C# programming language and the WinForms framework, while working from a location outside of a traditional office. Their main responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Windows-based applications with graphical user interfaces. By working remotely, they collaborate with teams and clients using online communication tools, and are often responsible for managing their own workflows and schedules. This role requires strong knowledge of C#, WinForms, and related technologies like .NET, as well as good communication and problem-solving skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote C# Winforms developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote C# Winforms Developer, you need strong proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, and Windows Forms, typically supported by a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with Visual Studio, version control systems like Git, and experience with debugging and unit testing tools are essential. Excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and effective remote communication abilities set outstanding developers apart in this role. Mastering these skills ensures you can build robust desktop applications, efficiently collaborate with distributed teams, and deliver high-quality software solutions.

What are some typical collaboration methods for a remote C# Winforms developer working with distributed teams?

As a Remote C# Winforms Developer, you'll frequently collaborate with team members using tools like version control systems (e.g., Git), project management platforms (such as Jira or Trello), and communication apps (like Slack or Microsoft Teams). Regular virtual meetings and code reviews help ensure alignment on project goals and coding standards. You may also participate in pair programming sessions and share screen demonstrations to address complex UI or logic challenges. Clear documentation and active participation in team discussions are key to overcoming the challenges of remote teamwork and delivering consistent, high-quality software.

Job description

The Team:

Upstart's Marketplace Optimization team builds and scales systems that clear Upstart's marketplace by balancing tradeoffs for borrowers, lenders, investors, and Upstart. We enable borrowers to access credit, and our capital partners to deploy capital efficiently and with confidence

As the Principal Product Manager, Monetization at Upstart, you will partner with Machine Learning to optimize those systems, and work with our engineering and business teams to simplify and automate the operations of the system. You will design experiments to test your best ideas, and be responsible for defining and hitting goals for every side of Upstart's marketplace - you work directly on Upstart's mission of offering the best rates for all Americans.

How you'll make an impact

  • You'll own the fee and pricing mechanisms that determine what Upstart charges across its loan products, directly shaping what customers pay and what Upstart earns on every loan.
  • You'll use novel competitive and customer insight to find fee and pricing improvements, then translate them into sharper models and rules that make our rates competitive, fair, transparent, and trusted at scale.
  • You'll set the fee strategy and roadmap in partnership with ML, Risk, Legal/Compliance, Finance, and Engineering across multiple product lines  deciding what to prioritize, why, and when, and keeping those teams aligned as priorities shift.
  • Ultimately, customers pay fairer, more competitive fees and Upstart grows revenue and trust because of your work.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-10 years experience in a marketplace product management role, with demonstrated success leading an engineering team to deliver critical initiatives in the domains of pricing, monetization, matching, routing, incentives.
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization, from C-level to individual contributors
  • Ability to manage and influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research
  • Hands-on experience with pricing/revenue optimization: elasticity modeling, revenue management, brand impact feedback loop, etc
  • Experience operating in a regulated pricing environment (lending, insurance, financial services)
  • Background in consumer lending, fintech, or capital markets products, with fluency in how fee changes flow into unit economics and investor/funding economics
  • Strong experiment design and analysis skills, including experience drawing conclusions when live A/B testing is constrained (offline simulation, quasi-experimental methods, competitive benchmarking)
  • Track record using data/AI tools to surface competitive or customer insight that changed a pricing or fee strategy, not just to automate reporting
  • Strong experiment design+analysis experience (A/B testing, offline simulations, and metrics-driven decisions)

Position location This role is available in the following locations: Remote

Time zone requirements The team operates on the East/West coast time zones.

Travel requirements As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions' cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.
