Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Generalist -- Business Operations Engineer based in Netherlands.

We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Business Operations Engineer to improve business efficiency through problem-solving, automation, and process optimization.
This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple departments, uncover operational challenges, and design solutions that create measurable impact.
You will combine analytical thinking, technical skills, and operational expertise to build scalable systems and improve everyday workflows.
Rather than only coordinating projects, you will take ownership of identifying issues, investigating root causes, and implementing practical improvements.
You will collaborate closely with management and operational teams in a fully remote environment where initiative and ownership are highly valued.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building, optimizing, and transforming the way teams work.

Accountabilities:

As a Business Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in identifying operational inefficiencies and creating scalable solutions that improve productivity across the organization. You will work across different functions, combining business understanding with technical execution to deliver meaningful improvements.

  • Rotate across business areas to understand workflows, identify challenges, and uncover opportunities for optimization.
  • Investigate operational issues, analyze root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Design and implement scalable processes, systems, and automation solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Build internal tools and automated workflows that reduce repetitive manual tasks.
  • Create, improve, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support consistent and efficient operations.
  • Lead operational improvement initiatives from initial problem discovery through implementation and adoption.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure new solutions are practical, effective, and successfully integrated.
  • Continuously review existing processes and recommend improvements based on data and business needs.
Requirements:

You are a curious and solution-oriented professional who enjoys solving complex problems and taking ownership of projects from idea to execution. You combine strong analytical abilities with the ability to understand business processes and build practical solutions.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex operational challenges.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage projects from discovery through completion.
  • Experience building automations, improving workflows, or creating scalable business processes.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including comfort working with data and logical reasoning.
  • Ability to quickly learn and use new technologies, software tools, and systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document processes clearly.
  • Comfortable collaborating across multiple teams and adapting to changing business priorities.
  • A builder mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
  • Experience in operations, project management, business analysis, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote work environment with flexibility to work from anywhere.
  • Opportunity to have a direct impact on business operations and company-wide efficiency.
  • High level of ownership and autonomy in solving meaningful operational challenges.
  • Exposure to multiple departments and business functions.
  • Opportunity to build systems, automation, and processes that create long-term impact.
  • Collaborative environment focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and problem-solving.
  • Professional growth opportunities through hands-on experience with complex operational projects.
