Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Analyst - Data Sensitivity & VDI Migration based in Netherlands.

This role offers the opportunity to shape how sensitive data is stored, accessed, and protected across a complex enterprise environment.
You will assess data sensitivity, system usage, workflows, and storage practices across multiple business areas.
A key focus will be identifying high-risk use cases and determining where VDI, stronger access controls, or other secure solutions can provide the best protection.
You will translate detailed analysis into practical recommendations, business cases, and migration roadmaps.
Working closely with Security, Technology, and business stakeholders, you will help align solutions with data protection and governance requirements.
The role combines business analysis, data security, infrastructure, and stakeholder management in a highly collaborative environment.
Your work will directly support stronger data protection, informed technology decisions, and sustainable security practices.

Accountabilities
  • Partner with business groups across the organization to inventory systems, tools, endpoints, and data usage patterns associated with physical device storage.
  • Assess and classify data sensitivity across business units, systems, processes, and workflows, identifying areas of heightened security risk.
  • Analyze data and process flows across systems, servers, networks, and endpoints to support risk assessments and migration planning.
  • Identify critical systems and high-risk data storage practices that should be prioritized for migration to VDI or other secure data management solutions.
  • Document current-state and proposed future-state data storage, access, and usage models.
  • Evaluate viable solutions, including VDI, enhanced access controls, and other secure data management approaches, and recommend the most appropriate option for each use case.
  • Develop business cases and recommendations for VDI migration, considering risk, cost, operational impact, and user adoption.
  • Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements-gathering sessions across departments.
  • Collaborate with Security, Technology, and business teams to validate findings and ensure recommendations align with applicable data policies.
  • Present analysis, findings, and recommendations clearly to technology leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Support the development of a migration roadmap, including dependencies, priorities, adoption, and change management considerations.
  • Contribute to the design and documentation of privileged access management (PAM) processes and frameworks as part of broader data security initiatives.
  • Support the development of auditing and compliance review processes covering data usage, access controls, and end-to-end data security.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7+ years of professional Business Analyst experience, ideally with a strong background in data governance, data classification or sensitivity assessments, secure data storage, or IT infrastructure and endpoint initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working in complex, multi-platform, enterprise-level environments and analyzing systems usage and data flows across multiple business units.
  • Familiarity with VDI concepts and platforms such as Citrix, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop, or a proven ability to quickly understand and work within new technical domains.
  • Strong experience conducting stakeholder interviews, facilitating requirements-gathering sessions, and translating complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to develop use cases, cost-benefit analyses, business cases, and executive-ready documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively bridge technical and business audiences.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder groups, priorities, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with data classification frameworks and security or compliance standards such as NIST and ISO 27001 is preferred.
  • Experience with endpoint management, IT asset management, or physical device inventory tools is an advantage.
  • Prior consulting or contract-based Business Analyst experience is beneficial.
  • Exposure to higher-education or nonprofit technology environments is a plus.
Benefits
  • Opportunity to work on a high-impact data security and infrastructure transformation initiative.
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale VDI migration, data governance, access management, and security strategy.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with business, technology, and security professionals.
  • Opportunity to influence secure data management practices and technology decision-making.
  • A role combining strategic analysis, technical discovery, stakeholder engagement, and business transformation.
  • Professional experience in a complex, multi-platform environment with opportunities to broaden expertise across data security and infrastructure.
