Job description

AIPSO is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many AIPSO services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies.

However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare journal entries in preparation for Budget Variance reporting and Regional Executive Summaries. Annually, develop and prepare exhibits and reports for the Budget Work Package.

These exhibits include the calculation of central processor budgets and electronic binding rate calculations. Calculate payroll tax percentages for the Home Office and Regional Offices, input the percentages into the budget system. Annually, review Home Office and Regional Office budgets and reprojections.

Analyze for reasonableness and significant variances. Prepare budget review questions for these variances. Test the annual LAN Budget System and reconcile the budget system data to the MAS 500 system after the data has been uploaded.

Key budget adjustments for the Home and Regional Offices into the budget system and the MAS 500 System. Print department, state and summary budget reports. Run the monthly Services Rendered invoices interface, review invoices for reasonableness and make adjustments as necessary.

Distribute the services rendered invoices. Research variances, provide explanations, and prepare exhibits and narratives for the Operations Committee and Board Books. Education Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university majoring in Accounting preferred.

Additional appropriate experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience 1-3 years of extensive, in-depth knowledge of the accounting field. Knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to determine course of action based on these principles.

Some exposure to the insurance industry preferred. Skills & Knowledge Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel) to manage work

Advanced skills using MS Excel. Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze issues, find the root cause of the problem, and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.

Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail. Demonstrate excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.

Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by being able to follow directions and interpret customer needs. Knowledge of complex accounting software applications. Exposure to insurance industry and working knowledge of residual market mechanisms.

Salary Range: $54,400 - $86,800/$65,000 - $103,800 Annual. Actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; internal equity and other conditions of employment.
