Position Information

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Remote work options possible upon leadership approval and require the employee to live in the Texas region, have access to a computer, internet, and the ability to work independently.
  • Travel for professional development/conferences as needed.
  • Extended hours may be required during peak processing of projects and the annual budget preparation.
Salary Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience up to $55,000 Pay Basis Monthly Job Summary
The Budget Analyst will assist with the analysis of assigned department budgets and creation of the annual operating budget. This position will also be responsible for department administrative support and processing transactions relative to operations and events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide analysis of assigned department budgets and prepare budget related reports.
  • Communicate with departments regarding identified budget issues and respond to questions from campus partners.
  • Assist with development of the annual operating budget.
  • Support all departmental personnel during annual budget preparation.
  • Provide administrative support for the department including coordinating of events, processing HR eForms, completing internal checklists, tracking asset management, and purchasing relative to departmental operations.
  • Monitor policies and procedures of the university and department.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and initiate actions in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Two (2) years of experience, or six (6) years of an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in a similar role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with fund accounting in university finance or accounting.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Finance and Oracle Enterprise Management (EPM).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent accounting research skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively with various groups of people.
  • Ability to prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
