This is a paid internship, at competitive rates. The Memorial Day and 4th of July holidays are paid days off.
CNO Financial Group is hiring a Tax Intern to work alongside our Tax associates with professional day-to-day work within the department.
Core responsibilities and deliverables:
  • Assist the Tax team with gathering data and supporting documentation for quarterly tax provision and tax return preparation.
  • Help organize and review information used in state and federal tax filings under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Support the team by researching tax-related questions and compiling information needed to respond to taxing authority inquiries.
  • Assist with maintaining tax depreciation schedules and preparing supporting workpapers for tax account analyses.
  • Review invoices and expense documentation to help identify information needed for tax reporting and deductibility assessments.
  • Perform data entry, validation, and reconciliation activities to support tax compliance and reporting processes.

What you need (Minimum requirements):
  • Progress towards a bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline.
  • Status as a rising junior or rising senior, approx. graduation dates of December 2027-June 2029.
  • Availability to work 40 hrs/week for 10-12 weeks during the summer.
  • Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred OR willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours.

The CNO 2027 internship program will run May 17 through August 06, 2027.

All work must be performed within the United States, and occasional travel to corporate offices may be required.
Associates living within 60 miles of a corporate office (Carmel, IN; or Chicago, IL) have access to work from that location as needed.
