Job description

As our Marketing AI Specialist, you will be the architect of our team's AI-enabled productivity. You'll work closely with the marketing team and broader technology stakeholders to design and implement AI-enabled workflows that fundamentally change how the marketing team operates. This isn't just about knowing the best prompts - it's about systemic integration. You will identify manual bottlenecks across the marketing department and solve them by building custom AI agents, automated workflows, and internal tools. You will act as a bridge between the rapidly evolving world of generative AI and our day-to-day marketing operations, and you will report to the Sr. Director, Marketing Operations.

This is a 4-month full-time contract role. You'll be embedded with the marketing team from day one, delivering against a real backlog of AI-first priorities on a daily cadence.

About You
You are a driven, results-oriented individual who thrives at the intersection of technology and marketing. You have hands-on experience with large language models and AI tooling, and you understand how to translate those capabilities into real business value for a marketing team. You are as comfortable setting strategy as you are getting into the technical details - and you love taking down AI deliverables and enabling others to do their best work with AI on a daily cadence.
What You'll Do (aka Responsibilities)

AI Agent Development  Design, build, and maintain custom AI agents and agentic workflows (using Claude, OpenAI GPTs, and similar platforms) to assist specific marketing roles - from field marketing and content creators to digital marketing and marketing operations. You will iterate continuously based on team feedback.

Workflow Automation  Use tools like Zapier, MCP connectors, and LLM integrations to connect AI capabilities into our existing martech stack (Marketo, Salesforce, 6sense, and more), replacing manual processes with intelligent, automated systems.

MCP Connector Development  Own the development and ongoing maintenance of Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors across marketing applications, ensuring reliable integrations and optimized query performance for each connector.

Prompt Engineering & Governance  Build and maintain a centralized library of high-performing, standardized prompts, skills, and "brand voice" frameworks to ensure AI output consistency across the team. Establish guardrails and governance standards for how the team interacts with AI tools.

Backlog Delivery  Deliver a steady cadence of milestones from marketing's AI-first backlog, balancing strategic longer-term projects with tactical short-term priorities. You move fast and ship frequently.

Enablement & Office Hours  Lead enablement efforts and host regular office hours to support the marketing team with onboarding to new tools, troubleshooting, and answering questions. You build alongside the team, not just for them.

Best Practice Sharing  Act as the team's internal AI authority - sharing what's working, what's not, and what's coming. Foster a culture of continuous AI learning and improvement across all marketing disciplines.

Tool Evaluation  Stay on the pulse of the marketing AI landscape. Vet new tools and vendors to ensure the team stays ahead of the curve while maintaining data security and integration standards.

RAG Customization  Explore and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) customization where applicable to enhance the relevance and accuracy of AI outputs. (Nice to have.)

What You'll Bring (Education, Skills, Qualifications)
  • 1+ year of experience in AI, marketing operations, marketing technology, or a related field  (full time roles or internships)

  • Strong hands-on experience building and scaling with LLMs - Claude, GPT, Gemini, or similar - in production or near-production environments

  • A portfolio of "Builds" - show us the agents and/or automated workflows you've already deployed

  • Experience with Model Context Protocols (MCPs) and a solid working knowledge of how to connect LLMs to martech systems

  • Proven ability to build and deploy automated workflows using tools like Zapier, n8n, or similar integration platforms

  • Strong communicator who can translate complex AI capabilities into practical, everyday value for non-technical marketing stakeholders

  • Solid understanding of marketing principles and fluency across MarTech ecosystems (CRM, MAP, ABM, analytics)

  • Background in management information systems (MIS) or a marketing or business major with a second degree and/or minor in computer science, data engineering, or software development preferred

  • Driven, results-oriented mindset with a track record of delivering in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

  • Experience with multi-modal AI (image generation, video, audio synthesis) is a plus
