What are remote blockchain jobs?

Remote blockchain jobs are positions that allow professionals to work from anywhere while developing, managing, or supporting blockchain technologies. These roles can include blockchain developers, smart contract engineers, project managers, and analysts working with decentralized applications and cryptocurrencies. Remote blockchain jobs offer flexibility, the opportunity to collaborate with global teams, and the chance to contribute to innovative projects in the rapidly evolving blockchain industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote blockchain developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Blockchain Developer, you need a strong background in computer science, cryptography, and distributed ledger technology, often supported by a degree in a related field and relevant programming experience. Familiarity with blockchain platforms (such as Ethereum, Hyperledger), smart contract languages (like Solidity), and version control systems (such as Git) is typically required, along with certifications like Certified Blockchain Developer. Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and self-motivation are crucial for collaborating across time zones and working independently. These competencies ensure secure, efficient blockchain solutions and seamless teamwork in remote, decentralized environments.

How do remote blockchain professionals typically collaborate with global teams on decentralized projects?

Remote blockchain professionals often work with highly distributed teams, utilizing collaboration tools such as Slack, GitHub, and Zoom to communicate and coordinate tasks. Since blockchain projects are inherently decentralized, clear documentation and version control are essential for tracking changes and ensuring transparency. Team members often participate in regular stand-up meetings and asynchronous discussions to stay aligned on project goals, troubleshoot issues, and share updates. Building strong communication skills and proactively seeking feedback are key to thriving in this collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Netherlands.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering, AI infrastructure, and customer success in a fast-growing cloud environment. You'll partner directly with customers to solve complex technical challenges and help them successfully adopt and scale AI workloads. The role combines hands-on engineering with customer-facing responsibilities, including architecture guidance, proof-of-concept development, troubleshooting, and technical enablement. You'll work closely with sales, support, product, infrastructure, and engineering teams to turn customer needs into practical solutions and product improvements. Your work will directly influence customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the evolution of the platform. The environment is remote-first, highly collaborative, and designed for people who take ownership and move quickly.

Accountabilities
  • Participate in customer and sales meetings, explain technical capabilities, provide architectural recommendations, and develop proof-of-concept solutions to support the onboarding of high-value customers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex or critical customer issues involving configuration, performance, functionality, compatibility, and code-related problems.
  • Investigate technical issues using code analysis, scripting, log analysis, remote access, and other diagnostic techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions or workarounds.
  • Collaborate closely with customers and internal teams across engineering, sales, support, supply, product, and infrastructure to resolve challenges and deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Support the resolution of escalated technical tickets, working with engineering on workarounds and bug fixes and with infrastructure teams on GPU server and related infrastructure issues.
  • Capture and communicate customer feedback and recurring technical challenges to help engineering and product teams prioritize meaningful platform improvements.
  • Contribute to product development and testing by bringing real-world customer insights into technical and product decisions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including knowledge base articles, FAQs, guides, and manuals.
  • Develop and deliver technical training sessions, webinars, demonstrations, and enablement materials for customers, partners, and internal teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Familiarity with applied AI use cases such as model inference, fine-tuning, LLM-based applications, or agentic systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a collaborative, customer-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in Python, with experience in frameworks or libraries such as Django, Flask, or PyTorch; familiarity with JavaScript/React/Node.js and Go is a strong advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux/Ubuntu, Docker, SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
  • Understanding of server hardware, networking, data center infrastructure, and common protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, and DNS.
  • Experience deploying and managing AI/ML models as services or APIs, with a solid understanding of model training, inference, and deployment workflows.
  • Ability to write and execute scripts, queries, and commands and confidently interpret code, logs, errors, and traces.
  • Must be based in the EMEA region and eligible to work without employment visa sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $100,000 to $180,000 USD or the equivalent in local currency, with the final range determined based on experience, qualifications, career level, and location.
  • Meaningful equity through stock options, allowing employees to share in the value created by the company's growth.
  • Flexible paid time off to support rest, personal needs, and sustainable performance.
  • Remote-first working environment with an inclusive and collaborative global team.
  • Flexible communication and collaboration through primarily asynchronous workflows and Slack-based internal communication.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI infrastructure alongside a passionate, technically ambitious team.
  • Strong culture of ownership, learning, collaboration, and meaningful impact.
  • $1,200 home office and equipment stipend to help create an effective and comfortable remote workspace.
