As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Health Journey Wellness, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices tailored to each client's unique circumstances and therapeutic needs.
  • Implementing therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address mood disorders effectively.
  • Providing psychoeducation to clients and their families to enhance understanding of mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies.

  • Advocating for clients to reduce stigma around mental health and ensure they receive the necessary support.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus primarily on clients contending with various mood disorders, including anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. You will work with a diverse range of individuals, including underserved populations such as those experiencing homelessness, refugees, and victims of domestic abuse. This variety enriches the therapeutic process and presents both challenges and rewards as you aid clients in navigating their emotional landscapes.
