The Senior Product Manager will lead the development and execution with responsibilities balanced across 50% product innovation and cross-product alignment and 50% technology development and execution. This leader will define the future-state vision for member, advisor, provider, and care team experiences, while partnering closely with operations, product/benefits, technology, clinical, and consumer experience teams to translate strategy into executable platform capabilities, workflows, and investment priorities.
This role requires strong enterprise leadership across UnitedHealth Group, with deep collaboration across Optum Health Solutions, UnitedHealthcare clinical leadership, technology partners, and business owners across the medical portfolio. The ideal candidate will understand the dynamics of the UHG enterprise and the external marketplace, including customers, competitors, providers, partners, government sector stakeholders, and consumers, to develop scalable, multi-tiered care management and health navigation solutions.
Reporting to the Product Director, All Channels, the Senior Product Manager will elevate baseline care management capabilities across assessment, education, care planning, clinical trending, workflow optimization, and data-enabled decision support. This leader will partner with cross-functional teams to align individual product needs with broader portfolio strategy, advance holistic care management tools, and drive innovation grounded in best-practice analytics, operational feasibility, and measurable business impact.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead strategy, standardization, and innovation across health navigation, care management, advocacy, and engagement products
  • Drive cross-product alignment to create seamless member, provider, advisor, and care team experiences
  • Translate business goals and market opportunities into product strategies, roadmaps, and investment priorities
  • Identify build, buy, partner, and enhancement opportunities to accelerate growth and capability development
  • Leverage analytics, AI, and best practices to design innovative, scalable care management solutions
  • Define requirements, use cases, success metrics, KPIs, and ROI to guide product development and adoption
  • Partner with Product, Technology, Clinical, Operations, and Experience teams to deliver prioritized capabilities
  • Lead platform modernization across data, interoperability, automation, digital experiences, and technology infrastructure
  • Manage delivery across agile teams and technology partners, ensuring scalable, compliant solutions
  • Drive governance, investment prioritization, and long-term platform sustainability
  • Build executive alignment, influence strategic decisions, and facilitate complex cross-functional initiatives

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, strategy, capability development, or digital transformation
  • 2+ years of experience delivering technology, data, and service-enabled product solutions
  • Demonstrated leadership experience influencing cross-functional teams
  • Experience improving outcomes for individuals with complex healthcare needs
  • Proven success building and scaling capabilities within large, matrixed organizations
  • Solid knowledge of technology platforms, vendor ecosystems, and Agile development practices

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with UnitedHealth Group, Optum, or UnitedHealthcare
  • Consulting and/or healthcare industry experience
  • Experience using analytics and customer insights to guide product decisions
  • Ability to lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced, iterative environment
  • Proven ability to drive product development from vision through execution
  • Solid partnership and influencing skills across Technology, Clinical, Operations, Strategy, Finance, Legal, and Sales teams
  • Passion for improving healthcare outcomes and experiences

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
