Job description

Symetra offers an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Analyst!
About the role
As a Business Analyst on the Swift Product team, you'll be an essential part of the group that supports our digital life insurance platform. As a Business Analyst on Swift, you will work on solutions that often span business processes, data, integration, and multiple technology systems
In this position, you will collaborate with Product Owners, engineers, and business partners to identify needs, gather and document requirements, and analyze business processes. Success depends on a strong analytical perspective, working well with others, and the confidence to question, challenge assumptions, and deliver impactful results.
You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy taking ambiguous business problems, asking the questions others haven't considered, and working across business and technology teams to turn those problems into well-defined solutions.
What you will do
  • Work together with Product Owners, engineers, and business partners to support product improvements and pivotal initiatives.
  • Build and maintain requirements, process documentation, workflows, user stories, and other project artifacts.
  • Facilitate discussions with business and technical teams to define requirements and align solutions.
  • Analyze business processes to find opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and automation.
  • Evaluate solution options, assess business impacts, and recommend approaches that align with organizational goals.
  • Partner with Business Technical Analysts and technology teams to troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and support solution development.
  • Assess the impact of proposed changes across systems, data, processes, and downstream workflows.
  • Develop acceptance criteria and assist with testing activities, such as test planning, running tests, addressing defects, and user acceptance testing.
  • Confirm that the solutions provided align with business needs and user expectations.
