Job description

We Do Consulting Differently

BRG is seeking a full-time skilled Billing Specialist with a strong level of expertise for its Corporate Billing Department. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex billing processes in a professional services environment and will be responsible for all aspects of the billing cycle, from invoice preparation through client support and issue resolution. Workday for Professional Services and hands-on experience with Financials processes, specifically Accounts Receivable and Billing is highly preferred.

The Billing Specialist reports directly to the Billing Manager and is responsible for delivering exceptional service and support to firm personnel, clients, and subcontractors. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to accuracy, quality, and outstanding customer service. This role requires strong collaboration skills, a team-focused mindset, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while supporting departmental and firmwide goals. This position follows a standard 40-hour work week.

Duties will include but are not limited to:         

  • Review client contracts and validate project set-up to ensure compliance with engagement and billing requirements.
  • Generate and process client invoices for standard, electronic, and complex billing arrangements.
  • Edit, customize, and process client invoices in accordance with contractual terms and client-specific requirements.
  • Manage multiple assignments concurrently, providing timely follow-through, status tracking, and progress reporting.
  • Conduct work-in-progress (WIP) analysis and maintain accurate tracking, reporting, and supporting documentation.
  • Support the development of billing team members by providing guidance, training, and ongoing assistance following successful completion of training and demonstrated proficiency.

Qualifications:         

  • Extensive experience managing the full billing cycle, with a minimum of five years in a professional services environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in 10-key operations, Microsoft Office applications, including, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Workday or similar professional services and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, with exceptional organizational skills, strong follow-through, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting demanding deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across multiple departments.
  • Committed to delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to consistent attendance.
  • Experience with e-billing platforms, including e-Billing Hub, is highly desirable.
  • Experience with bankruptcy and fee application billing is a plus.
  • Experience with international billing, including multi-currency transactions and tax considerations, is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Salary Range: $58,000-85,000.
