Is there a legit product tester job?

A legitimate product tester job involves evaluating products such as electronics, appliances, or sports equipment, often requiring attention to detail and reporting feedback. These roles are typically offered by companies or market research firms and may involve testing at home or in controlled environments. It's important to verify the company's reputation and avoid jobs that require upfront payments or promise unusually high earnings with little effort.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Bike Tester, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Bike Tester, you need a strong understanding of cycling mechanics, technical riding ability, and familiarity with different types of bikes, typically supported by prior experience in cycling or bike maintenance. Proficiency with GPS tracking apps, ride data analysis tools, and basic reporting software is commonly required. Attention to detail, clear written communication, and the ability to provide objective feedback are standout soft skills in this role. These skills are crucial for delivering accurate, actionable evaluations that help manufacturers improve bike design and performance.

What are the common challenges faced by Remote Bike Testers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Bike Testers often encounter challenges such as coordinating with engineering teams across different time zones, managing detailed feedback documentation, and ensuring consistent testing conditions without direct supervision. To address these, testers should establish clear communication channels, maintain thorough and organized records of each test ride, and follow standardized testing protocols. Additionally, staying proactive in reporting issues and participating in virtual team meetings can help ensure that their insights are effectively integrated into product development.

What are Remote Bike Testers?

Remote Bike Testers are professionals who evaluate bicycles, e-bikes, or related cycling equipment from a location outside the manufacturer's facility, often from their own home or local riding areas. Their work involves assessing the performance, safety, comfort, and features of bikes, then providing detailed feedback or reports. This feedback helps manufacturers improve their products before they reach the wider market. Remote Bike Testers may work for bike companies, review sites, or as independent contractors. They typically need strong cycling experience and excellent communication skills.

Job description

Location: Griffith, IN (hybrid preferred, with the possibility of remote)

Salary: $98,000 - $115,000 + performance bonus

Loopy Cases is a family-founded, direct-to-consumer eCommerce phone accessory brand entering its next phase of growth. We're looking for a seasoned Paid Media Manager to own paid customer acquisition and scale performance across our paid channels.

You'll have real ownership of strategy, budget, and performance, operating as an individual contributor from day one. While you won't inherit a team immediately, you'll have the opportunity to help build one as our paid channels continue to grow.

We're looking for someone with experience owning paid media at the channel level. Someone who treats CAC and ROAS as their personal scoreboards and genuinely enjoys creative testing, budget optimization, and uncovering new opportunities for growth. Working closely with our CMO, Influencer Relations Manager, and Creative Manager, you'll apply a disciplined, test-driven approach to drive measurable customer acquisition.

Success in this role comes from owning the numbers and being candid about what's working and what isn't. You'll use data to guide budget and creative decisions while approaching every challenge with curiosity, urgency, and a long-term view of the brand.

If you'd like to learn more about who we are, please visit our website.

What You'll Do

  • Own paid media strategy and execution across Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, and emerging channels (e.g., Pinterest), from initial test through scaled, profitable campaigns
  • Manage and continuously optimize budget allocation across channels and campaigns to hit CAC, ROAS, and new-customer growth targets
  • Build and run a continuous creative testing cadence - hooks, formats, angles, offers - in close partnership with the broader marketing and creative team
  • Partner with the influencer relations team to identify and repurpose high-performing organic UGC as paid creative
  • Analyze campaign performance, attribution, and full-funnel metrics, using data to set priorities and guide weekly decisions
  • Report results, learnings, and recommendations directly to the CMO, serving as the trusted voice on paid acquisition strategy
  • Test and improve post-click experience (landing pages, offers) in coordination with the broader marketing team

What You Bring

  • Full ownership of paid media budget, strategy, and performance, reporting directly to the CMO, with the autonomy to make data-backed decisions on channel mix and spend
  • 5+ years of progressive paid media experience, with a strong track record running channel strategy for a DTC or eCommerce brand
  • Proven track record of scaling paid spend profitably across Meta and TikTok, with hands-on Google Ads experience a plus
  • Strong command of performance metrics (CAC, ROAS, LTV, payback period) across multiple channels simultaneously
  • Experience running structured creative testing programs and translating results into briefs that creative and content teams can act on
  • Comfortable maintaining a live reporting dashboard and delivering daily, monthly, and ad hoc performance updates to leadership
  • Experience running structured creative testing programs and translating results into actionable briefs for creative and content teams
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with creative, content, and influencer teams to source and prioritize ad creative
  • Clear, confident communicator who can present results and recommendations to executive leadership
  • High level of accountability, comfortable being the first person to lead this function, with the opportunity to help build the team behind it as channels scale
  • Expertise with Triple Whale, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Google Ads, and other analytics/attribution tools

Why You'll Love It Here

  • End-of-year performance-based bonus
  • 401(k) option with a dollar-for-dollar match of up to 4% of yearly earnings, fully vested immediately
  • 18 days PTO
  • Optional health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Bicycle Benefit, 50% paid by Loopy with the purchase of a helmet up to $750 once per year
  • Wellness Benefit, 50% paid by Loopy on all sports and wellness equipment up to $200 once per year

Ready to Apply?
If you've scaled paid acquisition before and are looking for real ownership, this is your opportunity. You'll report directly to the CMO, own the budget, strategy, and performance across multiple paid channels, and have the autonomy to make data-backed decisions. As those channels grow, you'll play a key role in building the team behind them.
