Environmental / HAZMAT Subject Matter Expert (1099)

Rate $180 per hour (consultant direct rate)

1099 Bench Engagement โ€” Independent Contractor: This is an independent contractor (1099) bench engagement, not W-2 employment. Consultants execute a PSCG Master Independent Consultant Agreement. Consultants set their own hours within defined deliverable deadlines, maintain their own equipment, and are free to work for other clients. No PSCG benefits apply; consultants manage their own taxes, insurance, and retirement.

ABOUT PSCG

Essential Healthcare Solutions LLC is supporting Pinnacle Solutions & Consulting Group (PSCG), an SBA-Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in New Braunfels, Texas, in its search for motivated, solution-driven team players eager to embrace the responsibilities of working in a dynamic and professionally rewarding environment.

PSCG maintains a bench of Environmental and HAZMAT subject matter experts for per-task-order engagement supporting NEPA compliance, contamination assessment, and hazardous materials management on federal disaster response task orders.

THE ENGAGEMENT

PSCG is building a bench of Environmental and HAZMAT SMEs for per-task-order engagement. Typical applications include e-waste and lithium-ion battery management planning, NEPA documentation for Section 406 mitigation projects, and post-disaster contamination assessment.

TYPICAL SCOPE OF WORK

  • Conduct environmental compliance assessments on disaster recovery and mitigation projects.
  • Prepare NEPA documentation (EA or EIS) as task order requires.
  • Advise on HAZMAT handling for e-waste, lithium-ion batteries, and household hazardous waste streams.
  • Support FEMA environmental-historic preservation compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with federal and state environmental regulatory agencies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related discipline; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of environmental compliance or HAZMAT management experience.
  • HAZWOPER 40-hour certification current.
  • Working knowledge of NEPA, CERCLA, RCRA, and applicable state environmental statutes.
  • Active clients or project portfolio demonstrating genuine independent contractor status.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Public Trust clearance.
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Professional Environmental Manager (PEM).
  • FEMA Environmental-Historic Preservation training.
  • Pacific region disaster recovery experience.

ENGAGEMENT TERMS

  • Engagement under PSCG Master Independent Consultant Agreement.
  • Consultant maintains own tools, certifications, and professional liability coverage where applicable.
