As a Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor at First Base Therapy, you will play a vital role in enhancing the mental well-being of our clients through personalized and effective counseling services. Your professional expertise as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) will be instrumental in guiding individuals confronting various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and addiction. This position offers a remote work setting, enabling you to manage your workload from a comfortable and distraction-free environment. Our outpatient office fosters collaboration among team members, utilizing digital communication platforms to maintain a seamless workflow. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a balanced work-life schedule that encourages self-care and professional development.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to evaluate their mental health status, history, and needs.
• Develop and implement tailored therapy plans that align with each client’s unique goals and circumstances.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions, effectively utilizing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and solution-focused approaches.
• Regularly monitor and document client progress, making adjustments to therapy plans as needed based on feedback and outcomes.
• Provide clients with a robust set of coping strategies and resources to manage their mental health challenges effectively.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community resources to create a support network for clients, ensuring comprehensive care.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices through ongoing professional education and training.

Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional mental health services to individuals dealing with a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, substance use disorders, and other behavioral health challenges. Understanding and employing culturally responsive approaches is crucial in effectively serving our diverse patient population and ensuring that all clients feel seen, heard, and valued.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• A valid California license as LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC is mandatory for this position.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in mental health counseling, demonstrating proficiency in therapeutic techniques and client engagement.
• Strong understanding of culturally relevant therapy practices and an ability to adapt styles to meet diverse client needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for efficient documentation and client tracking.

• Experience working in a virtual counseling capacity, utilizing telehealth platforms and tools.
• Background in conducting group therapy sessions and leading workshops or support groups.
• Proficiency in integrating holistic or alternative therapy modalities into traditional counseling practices.
