The Product Owner โ€“ Personal Deposits is accountable for implementing the product design, development and product marketing strategy for Servus Credit Union's personal deposit banking products, as well as a play a key role on the Service Fee Committee. Reporting to the Director of Product and working closely with rest of the Pricing and Loyalty Team, their detailed understanding of the product life cycle and proficiency in product management best practices will ensure an innovative and competitive portfolio of Personal banking products and services.

What You'll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Provides input into the development of an innovative product and service strategy; translates product strategy into operational plans that prioritize activities based on business and member impact.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains a deposit product roadmap that defines enticing features for our members, drives adoption, and increases utilization of Servus' services; ensures product programs reflect the market needs of members and deliver the companyโ€™s vision and strategy.
  • Creates buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
  • Manages an assigned product portfolio through all stages of the product lifecycle, driving its success through product and pricing optimization, and ongoing recommendations to improve product profitability and competitiveness; ensures internal stakeholders are up to date and informed of product-shelf and any changes.
  • Leads the development of an ideal member experience, targeted to specific segments, and built upon collaboration and integration between digital and direct/assisted channels, solutions, sales, and operations.
  • Actively monitors member channel usage, including in-branch/ department transactions and member share of wallet, to support the use of data in determining branch and department productivity.
  • Actively supports Product, Pricing and Loyalty leadership team with reporting needs, specifically as it relates to ongoing business performance, helping to identify gaps and support tactical strategies to address gaps.
  • P&L for Deposit Products including end to end ownership of all revenue & cost drivers of Retail Deposit products.
  • Provides content for Service Fee Committee.
  • Partners with appropriate teams and leaders to support annual KPI planning, including product volume and unit objectives that drive revenue growth, member adoption and member satisfaction goals.
  • Leads the development and execution of member propositions, with the intention of acquiring new members, deepening member relationships, and increasing share of wallet.
  • Establishes and manages third-party vendor relationships and products, in addition to providing input for setting and optimizing relevant strategies and tactics; ensures partnership agreements and service level expectations are adhered to.
  • Stays current on external market conditions and new or evolving trends in product management, distribution, and segmentation; provides assessment of Servus' offerings compared to our competition and responds by adjusting product roadmap as necessary.
  • Ensure governance, compliance, and risk standards are upheld.

What You Bring

Education Requirements

  • 7 yearsโ€™ experience in financial services, product management and development, or analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability in product management and development, customer segmentation, sales and profitability analysis, and vendor relationship management.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

  • The business may from time to time ask for branch and/or department support for special projects and/or areas experiencing staff shortages.
