Fusion HCR is hiring!  Contract to Hire – SCADA Systems Analyst, this is a remote opportunity, working with our client in the Utility space.  Candidates must live in Nevada or Texas Only.
Fusion HCR is seeking a Senior Analyst / Systems (SCADA) to join a leading utility organization supporting critical operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) environments. This individual will serve as a lead technical contributor responsible for the design, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of mission-critical SCADA and Historian platforms that support natural gas distribution operations.
  • The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SCADA/ICS environments, strong technical leadership skills, and experience supporting highly available 24x7 operational systems. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operation of critical utility systems.
Responsibilities
  • SCADA & Operational Technology Support
  • Design, implement, configure, maintain, and support SCADA and Historian platforms.
  • Support SCADA application servers, real-time and historian databases, communications interfaces, and field device integrations.
  • Ensure system availability, performance, security, and reliability for mission-critical operational environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, database, operating system, and OT communications issues.
  • Participate in on-call support and operational incident response activities.
Technical Leadership
  • Lead the analysis, design, testing, implementation, and lifecycle management of SCADA and OT applications.
  • Evaluate technology solutions and provide recommendations based on business requirements, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Lead upgrades, patching activities, maintenance initiatives, and change management efforts.
  • Coordinate implementation schedules and testing plans for new and existing systems.
Business & Project Collaboration
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions and system enhancements.
  • Perform process mapping and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop work plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support end-user training and knowledge transfer activities.
Governance, Security & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, operational policies, and disaster recovery requirements.
  • Participate in emergency management planning, recovery testing, and business continuity efforts.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards, procedures, and documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and security.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting SCADA, ICS, OT, or industrial automation environments.
  • Experience within utilities, natural gas, energy, or other critical infrastructure industries.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience across SCADA applications, databases, operating systems, and OT communications.
  • Experience supporting highly available 24x7 production environments.
  • Systems testing and implementation experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting regulated utility operations.
  • Knowledge of IT/OT networking and infrastructure.
