Title: AWS Network Engineer (Firewall - PaloAlto/Fortinet)

Location: Onsite, Las Vegas, NV (Only locals or someone from AZ or CA)

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Job Description:

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with strong expertise in Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls to design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures. The specialist will ensure network security, performance, and availability across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, implement, and maintain Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager) and Palo Alto Next-Gen Firewalls.
  • Routing and Switching with CISCO product.
  • Manage firewall policies, VPNs (site-to-site, remote access), NAT, and security profiles.
  • Perform network troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Conduct firewall upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with security teams to align firewall configurations with compliance and security standards.
  • Perform incident response and root cause analysis on firewall-related issues.
  • Integrate firewall solutions with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Document network changes, topology diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical network security issues when required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Network or Security Engineer.
  • Strong expertise with Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer) and Palo Alto (PAN-OS, Panorama) firewalls.
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLANs, NAT, VPNs, SSL/IPSec.
  • Experience with IDS/IPS, content filtering, threat prevention, and application control.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.).
  • Understanding of cloud networking and security integrations (AWS/Azure/GCP firewalls).
  • Certifications preferred: PCNSE (Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer), NSE4/NSE5 (Fortinet Network Security Expert), CCNP Security, or equivalent.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Education:
